Not all alien planets have breathable air, mind you. Planet LV-426 in the films Alien and Prometheus required the use of spacesuits for the visiting crew (before it was terra-formed in Aliens).

They did this on Mythbusters once, in a James Bond special. I can't remember what the results were, but I think it was Plausible.
