Having worked once for a French company, I can say employment or setting up a business in France is an expensive bureaucratic nightmare. They're obsessed by petty rules, business taxes and paperwork. Hence a lot of French entrepreneurs move to London.

ID cards are compulsory so working cash in hand on the black market is almost impossible. Unemployment is also high partly because of this and migrants don't want to stay there. These migrants were from Albania I believe, so are likely to be economic migrants rather than refugees.

I've never really been able to understand what is meant by a 'student strike'.

When workers go on strike, they stop producing goods and/or services.
When students go on strike, what is it that they stop producing?
I would think "boycott" would be a better word, but that would make them look like the idiots that they are.

Should it not just be described as mass truancy? Therefore they could be taken into the headmasters office and suspended or expelled, like most little children!

I think friend CARLTON BROWN has found a use for our white elephant carriers, floating prisons, and mobile guard ships, especially with their highly advanced radar! Crewed of course by the Civil Services own security firm G4S!

We could always air-drop them.

When I was an undergraduate, the SWSS attempted to call a "strike" at my university over a change to the way local government was funded.

The point above was made to them repeatedly, a strike is a withdrawl of labour, students are there to learn, not to produce, we had no labour to withdraw.

Despite this, they refused to withdraw the motion and were then defeated in a vote by about 20:1.

Kept me away from the pub that lunchtime it did, I was most put out .

A lesbian couple have been found guilty of murdering the mother's two year old son Liam in Fife, Scotland. To make matters worse they laid the blame on another kid for the murder. They subjected poor Liam and two other children to a catalogue of abuse. The verdict returned was unaminous and they are due to be sentenced in July. I sincerely hope that they get life and that it means just that. These people cannot be allowed to ever be let back into society ever again. It is sickening that they and another couple can kill innocent children and then fake concern about and cover up their despicable crimes.

Then allow me to suggest that they be repatriated via ballistic trajectory.

In a news interview someone who knows these two scumbags, said that they were laughing and joking about going to prison for neglect. At least the court and the Procurator Fiscal have convicted them for the proper charge. Murder.

Watching these two waddle up to court mortified me, they actually got bail! But with a joint weight of at least sixty stone (640lbs for our US friends). Perhaps the new Scottish Government felt the food bill would be too expensive for the tax payer!Ironically they will probably be in the same jail, and able to carry on as before, except with a better diet!
