Actors or Actresses you disliked in any film or in a particular role
This thread was inspired by a post on John Travolta in the "Worst Film . . ." thread ( BTW, most of the time I happen to like Travolta). There are some actors -male or female- in films who for some reason, it does not matter how good the work, just rub you the wrong way.
For me it's Roger Moore, and I think this goes back to his stint as Beau Maverick on television. Billy Bob Thornton escapes this category only because of the extraordinary "Sling Blade." When I see him, I know he's doing fine, nuanced work . . . but he just creeps me out. An actress/girlfriend lived with me for a short period of time; her favorite movie was "Bandits." can you imagine . . .

Steven Segal
In any film under any circumstances, ever, as I have posted recently on a related thread.
And it appears that he is taking it upon himself to share his "music", with the world (Shudder) |

Richard Dryfus has to top my list of popular actors. There is something about him that annoys me to no end. The only movie I've ever been able to tolerate with him was Jaws, only because the rest of the movie was distracting enough.
Martin Short. Absolutely cant stand him. Eric Roberts. Impossible to watch. The Corey Twins |

Kevin Costner (I know, I'm contradicting what I said in the western thread) but there is something so smug about him I just want to punch him and apart from Dances With Wolves, what decent stuff has he done.
Another one I cant stand to watch (probably not going to be popular this one) Tom Hanks (apart from Big which I love), he always seems to play....well, Tom Hanks.

Hugh Grant
Who only seems capable of playing Hugh Grant.
A while back there was an ad for world movies on S.B.S television here in Australia which depicted Grant playing various emotions, unsurprisingly they were all identical. Sorry if I've offended anyone, I personally can't think of a single film of his that I would bother to rent, although I admit to sitting through a couple. (I do like Sandra Bullock!! ) |

Tom Hanks and Woody Allen (as either actor or director) are both supreme douchebags.

Wish you guys would stick to just one actor per post (says me smiling), I know it's not my thread and thanks for an excellent idea snorkie but with all the previous posts I'm finding I agree with one choice, but not with the other, so a big "tha" to all, and I'll reserve my "nks"!

Gene Hackman. He's had plenty of good roles in plenty of good movies, but something always bugs me about him.

Ancient history, but - Karen Black. Remember her? She was the female Dudley Moore of the 70s, popping up all over the map.
Her cross-eyed presence never did a thing for me. Not then, not now. |
