Licht, I am not an academic! My background is military, with a lot of service in The Middle East, with both the British Army Training Team, working with the host nations on military training, with the French, American and other NATO forces, and now in a role which I find incredible, because I work with Russian ex military folk, I have said before, we find as soldiers, we have a lot more in common than the political masters would like!

As for being able to inform the public, sadly we are not allowed to talk to the press without permission and strictly forbidden to do interviews! In Britain and America there are some very well informed journalists, sadly there are also a lot who, er can not control their bias and are very one sided.

Biases and hysteria sell papers and have people watching the tube and clicking on links, which convinces businesses to buy advertising. The Middle East is far too complex for the two thirds of the U.S. that, at best, graduated high school with a "C" average. Nearly a quarter of these people couldn't even manage that and dropped out without graduating. Now they believe it is the government and corporations to blame when they can't find jobs that pay more than minimum wage.

I read recently that 85% of job applicants in Colorado are failing drug tests. Unfortunately, many companies cannot risk placing stoners in many jobs which require alertness and quick thinking.

I bet they just go to another country like Trinidad or Thailand.
