Susan Hart, according to Tom Byron, got the hell scared out of her by the IRS and was afraid she was going to jail for underreporting income. That's why she dropped out of the business.

Back during the Reagan presidency, the IRS went after the porn business because everyone got paid in cash and also made tips at personal appearances. They especially targeted Ginger Lynn -- the biggest star at the time -- but a lot of people, including Hart and Byron, got caught and had to pay back taxes and fines.

Off the top of my head:

Sharon Kane (she was a great utility porn actor and fantastic at femdom roles or portraying slightly bitchy characters, but I think she stunted her career with all the bisexual & tranny porn and I suspect that a lot of people confused her with Sharon Mitchell, which didn't help.

Ginger Lyn claims that the IRS investigation started when She-Who-Must- not-be-named on this site was caught and to save her ass from jail, she told all the feds who was under reporting. At least that is what she told me.
