Yes, definitely, and all from imagevenue. I'm using FF 27.0.1

I have almost no add-ons except for AdBlock Plus, and I run Avira freeeware virus scanner

I'm almost certain he's like me and uses a Mac

I haven't got any warnings at all, using FF 27.0.1 and even though apparently not really required, I use Norton for Mac ...

In my view the more we try it, the more risk we run.

The thing now is.... will I listen to my own advice?... Probably not..

I wasnt suggesting anyone ignore the warnings and bypass them

Having watched 1 previous episode its clearly aimed at protecting the people who dont have a clue about being safe online so they block everything associated with a reported domain or server which would explain why some pics can still be accessed manually.

The suggestion that its about the ads is a reasonable one given a few well known streaming sites had their infection rates go from 5% up to 40-50% overnight
because of them.

If thats the case with imagevenue then you'd want to be bullett proof before you bypassed the warning...personally I can live without the images till its resolved

Maybe a case of wait and see what happens in the next week

Its no different to a server issue which usually takes time to resolve itself

Banning an imagehost that possibly makes up 60% of the forum is not really an option
Might as well hack the forum ourselves than go down that route

EDIT

Just used imagegrabber add-on for pale moon / firefox and got everything bar 7 dead pics from an 73 pic post that was rife with blocked images....no warnings from avast but then why should there be ...their my own pics

http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...7&postcount=51

Probably the short term solution for those that cant wait

If it were me i'd be doing it inside something like sandboxie just incase you get real unlucky
Then it a case of delete the sandbox and the infection is gone

I also think the browser is being overly cautious , loading thumbnail images shouldn't bring any risk

Some weeks ago I got horrifying virus warnings about a filehost. Can't remember which one it was, but the message said something like "Your computer will die if you proceed"

So I didn't proceed

Next day I tried the site again, and there was no warning. It turned out I had been using a proxy when I accessed the hoster, and the proxy produced the warning. When I switched the proxy off, there was no warning

But it sure made me worried for a time

I strongly recommend that all members avoid opening any images that will take them to an Imagevenue page!

It appears that Imagevenue may have been compromised and is at present not safe to use! There could be very valid reasons why many Imagevenue domains have ended up on Google's Safe Browsing site blacklist which both Chrome and Firefox use by default to protect users from infected or malicious sites. It could be due to hijacked advertisements, Javascript injection, or some other hack. It may even be a false-positive. Only Imagevenue themselves can resolve this.

If you really need the images in a post being hosted by Imagevenue then, as Buttsie has pointed out, use an image downloader add-on. Image downloaders bypass the need to open the hosts page altogether as they basically fetch only the image(s) from the target URL. This still isn't necessarily safe! If Imagevenue is being hacked then images could be replaced with infected ones.

I would also recommend that if you have browsed any Imagevenue pages over the last few days that you do a full system scan with a fully update anti-virus/malware suite just to be on the safe side.

Same here http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...70&postcount=1

Checking allthewaydown's posted images (6 posts total):

- all images at different posts posted at 12-29-2008 are infected

- images at original post 12-29-2008 but edited at 03-08-2011 are not infected

http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...3&postcount=18

Maybe only 'elder' images infected?

I think it's just random, see this post from 2006, images 2 4 and 6 say attack page, the rest are fine, maybe it's which imagevenue server it's held on

Seems indeed to be a random case - I also experienced the above described "attack"-alerts, however some pics do open smoothly.

Most probably some of the imagevenue-servers have this issue, whereas some donīt.

I am sure the IV-guys will (hopefully) sort out that problem quite soon.

Addition: I am on FF 27.01, No-Script Add-on and AntiVir Free. Same results whether FF is operated either with enabled or disabled Add-On-Settings.
