hip! Hip! Hurrah!
The Longest Day
Twelve O'Clock High The Big Red One Run Silent, Run Deep (I know the plot's silly but it's fun to watch) Saving Private Ryan Sink the Bismark! (largely forgotten) and . . . While it isn't strictly a war movie per se, "The Best Years of Out Lives." Miracle at St. Anna is just a little too uneven to make my list, but it's a close miss. |

Glory Gettysberg Merrills Marauders Hell Is For Heroes Attack ..........and not forgetting the t.v. series 'Combat' Last edited by deek69; March 22nd, 2009 at 06:35 AM.. |

Nice collection.
I know it is not a film but a serie, but "Band of brothers" is my favorite. |

band of brothers is the best in my opinion (Spielberg & hanks are doing another one called The Pacific that comes out this year) dont think anyone has mentioned (although i could be wrong) Full Metal Jacket Dambusters Stalingrad The Wild Geese Memphis Belle Zulu The Blue Max Von Ryans Express Tigerland Come and See (Fucked Up Russian WW2 Film) Letters From Iwo Jima Play Dirty |

Sherman=Ronson: ''Lights up first time, every time''
Quote:
Except for the excellent Russian T34, which won the land war on the Eastern Front, the Sherman was the best tank generally available to the Allies. It was difficult to repair in the field because the mechanical design was stupid and I personally would have chosen death by firing squad rather than obey an order to drive one into battle against Tiger tanks: if the gun was pointing anywhere but straight ahead, the turret blocked the driver's hatch and he could not get out. Dear God! I wouldn't kill my worst enemy like that. No blindfold sergeant. I paid for my ticket. I want to see the show. Last edited by scoundrel; March 22nd, 2009 at 11:36 AM.. Reason: spelling |
