With the current moped enabled crime wave in London, it’s a brave person who takes their smart phone out in public in certain parts of town!

I therefore bought a retro Casio watch for the princely sum of £12.

I have half a dozen watches (my mother keeps giving them as presents) but I haven't worn one in about six or seven years since I had carpal tunnel decompression surgery. The wristband just irritates the scar. I rely on the phone these days.

I used to wear a watch all the time.

Couldn't do without one.

Of course this was before we had personal gadgets with time on it.

But I would lose my watches whenever I take it off to wash my hand.

So I stopped wearing watches after losing a couple of them.

By that time, we were carrying beepers and pagers and those were always clipped to my belt and they had time on it.

They became the new watch until portable cell phones came around.

It might sound strange, but I haven't owned a watch since 1976

Being a burocrat, I always had to be on time, but knew someone else always had a watch, and I could ask. No one tricked me, that I knew of. We were honest people

For many years, I could also hear the time from church bells. That was in Germany. I also saw clocks on public & private buildings. It was easy to tell which ones were permanently wrong

Today, the actual time means less to me than ever. But I always have it on my PC display, and I have a clock on my desk. I don't miss not owning a watch

I think a watch on the penis is really impractical Mal. For reasons of hygiene. But your remark brought me an inspiration.

So I made a rough draft.

I call it 'Omega Dildomaster'. I know I know, the basic idea is technically not yet fully developed, but in principle it works no different than a sundial. Therefore, it would be environmentally friendly, almost maintenance-free and cheap to produce.
