Imagehost Problems, Imagebam, Imagevenue, PimpAndHost, PixHost, ImgBox etc - Page 179

Imagebam refuses to load the Jpg when i've click on it yet everyone else's shows up ?

I'm surprised at reading all the problems that some members are experiencing with image hosts. Typically I use imgbox, and I can't remember the last time that I've had a problem with them, its been that long ago. I certainly don't claim them to be the best, but from what I've read they seem to have far less issues/problems than Imagebam and P&H.

My only two peeves with them is that they do not upload jpeg images, and they do not provide a 180x180 size -- I must use the 150x150 because their next larger size is 200x200, which the forum does not allow.
But whenever needing to upload jpeg images (with jpg images mixed in) I typically use Imagebam, all upload flawlessly and I do not encounter any problems. I also do not seem to encounter any problems when opening various member's posts having been uploaded with various hosts.

The only problem which I've ever encountered is sometimes some member's images/posts will be a little slow in loading on the page.

jpeg and jpg is the same file format, you can just rename the suffix and then it'll work with imgbox.

With imgbox I have sometimes upload problems. Whenever their server (who they share with imagebam) is huffing and puffing imgbox does not upload anything at all. I have lost pics on imgbox, once a whole group of them, but it is not the constant drip-drip you get with imagevenue. One thing I find annoying with imgbox is that the page of the image does not offer you bbcode.

Jake Gittes ... I hope this is on topic and probably might require a thread of its own , but I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of how to restore an image in a post when you cannot see it in a post, but can when you click on it.

As far as image bam if you click on image and the larger one is blank it's gone unless the original poster's has it on file many older threads have that issue ... thank you for pointing that out ...Jake

I tried different Browsers, but didn't help. Also trying to load pimpandhost.com it says "page cannot be shown".

any ideas, what the reason for this could be? or, even better, how I can fix this Problem?

I have noticed that CRC codes obviously change if you alter the jpg. So if CRC #12345 for a jpeg is banned, if i slightly resize the picture down or up 1 pixel, the crc changes, or if you "save as new jpeg". However, keep in mind the compression issue with saving jpegs, which may result in huge MB file size for a relatively low pixel size, and saving to almost the exact same original pixel size. If one compresses the jpeg too much, picture quality is yucky.
I find this helps, but on this forum, and elsewhere, there are real "collectors" of the original photosets, unaltered in any way. Even the file names must be unaltered if i understand this.

Regardless of whatever version, original or altered, the copyright holder will report the jpg and it will be taken down., if they find the picture, that is...

In any case, all of the photosets i have uploaded are the originals, but have not "yet" been discovered or reported. I suppose this is an eventuality sooner or later with copyrighted material.

The interpol banned / blocked message at the ISP level is in about half a dozen countries
Nobody has really explained why its not eveywhere that i've seen

Signing into VEF with a proxy like anonymouse , the easiest workaround
but it has its limitations

Again imagebam, again problem with 115 server. All images not available. That server now has a daily technical problems. Judging by the frequency of breakdowns this server soon all the images will be permanently lost. The situation exact same as with the 105 server.
