One of my colleagues brought a couple of lbs of these, picked from the trees in her yard.

These are better than the store bought kind because they were picked after they have been allowed to ripe on the trees unlike the store kind which are picked while still green and then riped in a hot house before they are send to a supermarket.

Plus they are free.

We saw them at the store the other day and we sure weren't going to pay the asking price of $2 / lbs.

I made oven roasted lamb shank.

I cut slits in the meat and filled them with fresh garlic cloves and fresh rosemary..

Then slowly roasted at 275F for 6 hours in a mixture of water, red wine and whole peppercorns in a roasting pan sealed tightly with aluminum foil.

Couldn't sneak snaps yesterday of the ginormous amount of takeaway that I scoffed.
Although will say if any Fellow Forum Fella is reading this who dwells in the Norwich area. Take a pass on ordering anything from New World Chinese takeaway. Because those mean spirited buggers not only no longer give out free prawn crackers (For shame Mr Wang Sucki , for shame

). They also now shave off so much porky goodness from their ribs. It`s practically seventy percent bone

Anyway had beefy ravioli (Emmental cheese on top for a change , which went really well) day before.

Tonight it`ll be (Archer`s butchers Own) roast lamb with fix`ins

Indeed , have really taken to vegetarianism thanks to XYZzzzzz

Meat thermometer read 180 F and it's not touching any bones when I took the reading.
