I was actually referring to how titles come and go, not so much the individual change in any individual mag One thing that really strikes me since the explosion of titles is the amount of duplication Surely in this day and age there are enough models about to not have the same sets appearing in different magazines over and over Our major supplier of Aussie magazines ACP is notorious for it and their the tackiest rags for quality of paper....i'm sure it doubles as toilet paper http://www.acp.com.au/people.htm http://www.acp.com.au/the_picture.htm http://www.acp.com.au/the_picture_premium.htm Just going through this magazine site its bizarre how many issues lasted next to no time at all....Just Girls being history isnt that much of a surprise http://www.wonderclub.com/magazines/adult_magazines.php |

I'm a reader of all of the main 6 PRP titles and have been for years, I consider myself a collector too. I've actually been heartened by some of the changes I've seen content-wise, which I think had all drifted a bit by the end of the 'old' PRP era. The designs have mostly improved, my fear that advertising would take over was unfounded, and while the physical quality isn't what it was, it's acceptable still.
Not sure how aware you all are that the distributor of the new publishing company went bust a few months ago which caused serious problems leading to them liquidating some of their assets and their shares being delisted. If you buy from the newsagent and haven't been able to find issues easily recently this'll be why - they've even had some letters recently acknowledging 'problems beyond our control'. I've usually been against the DVDs, especially in the later days of 'old PRP' when they bascially had crop-framed hardcore films with all the best bits cut out! I'm not too upset with the recent DVDs which have basically been a video form of the exact same stuff that goes in the mags. I'd much rather see softcore content where you at least see all there is to see, and there is an added dimension seeing a girl on video compared to in the mag. Re Just Girls, I'll have a look myself when I next go mag shopping and let you know what I see, but I guess if it has gone I won't be too surprised. My best guess is that the new owners see themselves as owners of brands that many people are still really fond of - Mayfair, Men Only, Escort etc - and ultimately Just Girls (or even Model Directory) isn't one of them. As a bit of a magazine romantic I'd be sorry to see it go, but much rather that than one I really care about (and still buy!). My only fear is find these 'branded' titles turning into £5+ DVD issues, which I think would force me to rationalise my hobby a bit. Fingers crossed it doesn't come to that. |
