I'm getting the same warnings as AdamP and rig118 when I click a link for the first time. If I try again, or on one of the other image links on the post, then I get a completely blocked notice. Unable to load the page.
This has been going on for about three days.

If you really need the image, then (I do this) suspend Avast for 10 minutes, grab the image, then wait to be secure again before moving on.

I have scanned each image I have got like this and none have problems, so I am not sure what is going on

The odds are good that AV programs such as Avast are not blocking the images, per se, but are blocking the site based on malicious scripts linked to advertising on those sites.

That would be true if all images hosted on imagebam were being blocked, but they haven't been. It is difficult to find a pattern as to which images are blocked and which not--e.g. is it only ones posted there relatively recently, or what? /shrug/

avast is also now active for some images stored on imgbox. It claims an html script infection but still displays many images, i.e. different behaviour from with imagebam. Only a few images themselves are also blocked.

It could be a widespread infection of image host sites but now (second site) begins to smell like perhaps a revision of avast code & possible "over-sensitivity"?

No avast blocks as yet with imagevenue or p&h.

Looks like an Avast problem - I just checked some of my own Imgbox uploads, and got the "dire warning".

Yes, unable to load any imagebam pics.
Probably false alarm from avast or could be bad advertiser.
Better false alarm than no alarm on real problem.

This illustrates an over-reliance on imagebam.

From what I've been able to ascertain from the past two pages of this Avast issue/problem, some of you Avast users are thinking it is possible that most of the warnings have been false alarms.
It is possible that Avast has performed some recent type of upgrade or added some new software to their system which is now making them overly susceptible to certain sites/posts/programs?
If the problem cannot be controlled or rectified then perhaps Avast users may wish to consider dumping them for some other provider, if that is an available option.

I'm using AVAST now for about five years and it was always very reliable.
Sure it can be a false alarm, but it sounds to me very unlikely.

We have to watch IMAGEBAM a little closer, I think. Something has happen with it.
The alarm did not happen at the thumps on the forum sites, but if you try to open any of the pictures.

Every few weeks, they seem to change the cash whore ads on the site, and NoScript sends up the alarm as well. That's an invaluable little prog for FF users. For those that may not be aware, it gives you complete control over which scripts load, and which don't. It may appear to be a bit of a hassle when being run by new users, but you soon get accustomed to it, and it becomes as simple as taking a breath.
