Well, I do hope to contribute to this thread with my opinion/experience.

I'm portuguese and back here, altough pron is an open market item as any other (you can buy movies on allmost every large mall and even in most neighbourhood newspaper and magazine shop), pron is still very, you can say, subversive.

The pron boom was really felt in mid/late 90's, with the modern grunt/moan/BJ/vaginal/anal/facial cumshot routine-type movie. The first official portuguese adult movie was only made in 2000 (if I'm not mistaken) and was scared by this type of - yuck! > -"standard".

This leading to what? Simple.

I'm unaware of adult movies women watchers in the of Europe and USA, but I assume they are now a large - and growing - group; wich do not happens in my country. Adding to a still largely "victorian" like atitude - sex makes headlines allmost daily but trying to make of it a talk subject in coffe shop or at home is allmost a taboo - you get a unique mix of sex-desiring women (the big-O seekers) with a narrow mind. Find a girl/woman in her 20/30 that publicly admits to enjoy adult movies is a rare find - as rare as a fling elephant!

Narrowing to my personal experience.
