I would had loaded it with those red and purple and blue dyes packs that they put in bank's money bags for the tellers to hand to the robbers when the bank is being robbed.

Hee hee hee.

I think I'd rather put a small charge in a box loaded up with human shit, so this happens:

You've got to be a pretty low sort of human being to be a porch pirate.

This seems like a risky operation in the United States, given that a property owner would be well within his rights to shoot trespassers in many states.

That being said, loading the box with mace was my first thought as well.

On Monday last I had a stand-up row with an eastern european guy that dumped a package from Amazon on my doorstep. He rang the bell, dropped it and walked away, not giving me time to open the door. An open invitation to a passing thief or announcing to passers by that my house is probably unoccupied and ripe for a burglary.

I balled him out for being so f'ing lazy that he couldn't be bothered to follow the instructions on the package to "Leave in enclosed porch if out", after all, he would have had to turn a handle. Idle twat just shrugged, muttered something in foreign and pissed off. I did complain to Amazon but I realise that was probably a waste of effort and time. .

I think next time I will simply call Amazon and deny all knowledge of ever receiving the package..

Everyday occurrence in the US. Had people do it to me several times this year and I am retired and almost always at home. We don't shoot people for walking up to the door and our reaction times are way too slow to be doing it even if we wanted to.

I have had arguments with Fed Exp and the US post office regarding packages stated to have been dropped off at my house. Both said their employees stated it was dropped off on days and times when I was home, I never saw either. I got to eat the cost of those packages.

Pretty much their responses were similar, call the police......and fuck off about them doing anything about it. You have to pay for the signed delivery for any upgrade in delivery service.

Round here (UK) the packages are usually delivered by Amazon's own couriers, not the postal service. I could claim that as I hadn't signed for it - I didn't get it.

Amazon now hire outside companies to deliver your package.

When you order and you pick UPS or FEDEX, the package is coming from the Amazon warehouse or the Amazon reseller via UPS or FEDEX to the Amazon distribution center nearest you.

Then from there, the outside company picks up your package at that center and brings it to your home.

UPS or FEDEX that you may have paid extra $ to get the faster delivery does not bring your package to your door.

When you order the package, it doesn't tell you that:

you get the free shipping most of the time without needing to be an Amazon Prime customer which means it will ship by UPS ground, the slowest longer delivery method possible and then if you want it quicker, you pay extra $ and sometimes that extra $ still means the last leg of your delivery is with one of these 3rd party companies.

My wife orders a lot of stuff from Amazon and we had people that hardly spoke English, that looks like they just came into the USA last week from an African or Central/South American country come up to the door to drop off the package and most of the time they don't ring the doorbell or knock first to see if anyone home.

I ran into them a few times when I just happen to be stepping outside or be coming home and in a couple of of those times, they were driving cars that look like they had to push to get here.
