Actually they are all wrong, the true Monarch, is a descendant of the Celtic races which occupied Britain prior to the Roman occupation, therefore as a descendant of one of those tribes, and therefore, according to Robinson s theory, a more true descendant of those ancient Monarchs, I give up all claim and cede to Elizabeth Windsor. Nuff said!

There were quite a few tribes and I couldn't guess which one was eligible to furnish a single British monarch. Technically, I believe there is still a Jacobite claimant, although I seem to remember he wasn't interested and wouldn't accept it if it came with hot and cold running Bunny Girls. Tony Robinson traced the most likely eligible Plantagenet heir, but he too wasn't very interested. It is a job with considerable downsides when all is said and done; although it also comes with lots of toys and perks. Edward VIII liked all the privileges, but as soon as he was called on to make an important subordination of his own wishes to the good of the country he didn't want to, and he dropped his younger brother right in it.

The lawful Monarch is the one who is acclaimed by Parliament and crowned.

When he was 13 Edward VIII got mumps. It made him sterile and IMO he never really grew up. Mrs Simpson (Im surprised they didnt make more of that when Homer collided with her coach in London!) should be thanked from the bottom of our hearts for taking him off our hands.

Were all pre-Roman inhabitants of Britain Celts?

BTW, watching the better than expected film "Doomsday", which does a nice mashup of "Mad Max", Boudicca, and King Lear . . . a very nice post-apocalyptic tale with a lot of historical references (and I probably missed plenty)

The Celts were actually latecomers,They started arriving during the Bronze Age but there had been people in Britain since at least the last Ice Age.

It may be of interest that my native language, Cornish, (Kernowek). Is protected under the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. There are now 557 people who claim it to be their first language! As a Cornishman, who speaks no Cornish, but a bit of Welsh, due to Rugby, they must find it very hard to have any interaction! I do not know a single Cornish person who speaks the language! That said good luck to them in their revival of the language!
