Jonathan Frid, best known for playing vampire Barnabas Collins on the 60's soap opera Dark Shadows (this was back when vampires were considered manly), has passed away:

"Dark Shadows", Hells' bells there's a blast from the past! I was reminded of it just the other day when I was googling Gold Key Comics and this was one of numerous TV adaptations they did.

Bassist Chris Ethridge has passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 65. Ethridge was a mainstay of the late 60's and early 70's California music scene. He was the original bass player for the seminal rock/country band The Flying Burrito Brothers but left the band after the release of the The Gilded Palace of Sin. He then found great success as a studio musician playing and recording with Ry Cooder, Leon Russell, Dave Mason, Willie Nelson and many others. RIP Chris Ethridge.
