Removing Trump and bringing in Pence really scares me. Trump's ineptitude is keeping some of the right's extreme agenda at bay because Republican congressmen fear losing their jobs. There are not enough Trumpies to carry an election.

Note that Lindsay Graham has already sniffed the wind and is positioning himself for a 2020 run.

I always thought that Donald J was the least worst passenger on the GOP crazy bus for that very reason.

Yet another court loss for Trump's revised "travel ban".

"Trump’s executive order 'speaks with vague words of national security, but in context drips with religious intolerance, animus, and discrimination,' Chief Judge Roger Gregory wrote for the majority.

Sometimes I think that they want to lose these cases in order to retain support among his base. "You know Trump is trying to keep us safe, it's just them stupid judges that keep blocking him." Trump been in court way too much to know when to keep his mouth shut if he really wanted this done. As long as he keeps losing he can portray himself a martyr against the evil judiciary.

His "base" is going to support him no matter what. Remember the whole "I could shoot someone and not lose any support" claim. Yes, it's that bad. However amongst the rest of the world, this is one more sign that he has no idea what he's doing and is in totally over his head.

Remember this is his "revised" travel ban.

Default Trump hotel guest arrested for 'guns and ammo in car'

Washington DC police have arrested a guest at the city's Trump International Hotel after guns and ammunition were found in his car.

Bryan Moles, 43, was detained in his hotel room only blocks from the White House at around 01:00 local time (05:00 GMT) on Wednesday, say police.

A search of his vehicle in the hotel car park found a Glock handgun, a Bushmaster rifle and 90 rounds.

He reportedly told police he is a fan of the president.

Chief of Police Peter Newsham told reporters on Wednesday that the suspect was arrested after a tip-off to Pennsylvania State Police.

They contacted the US Secret Service and Washington police to say they had been told Mr Moles would be travelling to the nation's capital with weapons.

Mr Newsham pledged a thorough investigation to determine the suspect's motive, saying he was "very concerned about this very peculiar circumstance".

He added that Mr Moles has been speaking with investigators, and "doesn't have a really good reason for being here"

Just tells me that his opponents do not listen to their voters. It was not strength of support that got Trump the presidency, but the lack of support of his opponents.

As I said before he has been to court too many times to be loose with the talk about the travel ban. This may have been his way to reneg on the deal without losing support among his base, plus he can scapegoat the judiciary in the process and make it seem he is with them.

The Bullshitter in Chief

Quote:
The liar wants to be seen as the one telling the truth. The bullshitter just doesn’t care. That’s Trump. During the course of the 2016 campaign, he said over and over again that America is “the highest-taxed nation in the world,” which isn’t even remotely close to being true. But he kept saying it, despite having been called out repeatedly, and then he said it again in a recent interview with the Economist.
Quote:
How Frankfurt defines bullshit:
For the bullshitter, however, all these bets are off: he is neither on the side of the true nor on the side of the false. His eye is not on the facts at all, as the eyes of the honest man and of the liar are, except insofar as they may be pertinent to his interest in getting away with what he says. He does not care whether the things he says describe reality correctly. He just picks them out, or makes them up, to suit his purpose.
This is a perfect portrait of a typical Trump statement. His assertions about policy matters are often so garbled as to make it nearly impossible to work out what he’s even trying to say in order to evaluate its truth or falsity.

Trump administration plans to minimize civil rights efforts in agencies

Quote:
The Trump administration is planning to disband the Labor Department division that has policed discrimination among federal contractors for four decades, according to the White House’s newly proposed budget, part of wider efforts to rein in government programs that promote civil rights.
As outlined in Labor’s fiscal 2018 plan, the move would fold the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, now home to 600 employees, into another government agency in the name of cost-cutting.
The proposal to dismantle the compliance office comes at a time when the Trump administration is reducing the role of the federal government in fighting discrimination and protecting minorities by cutting budgets, dissolving programs and appointing officials unsympathetic to previous practices.

Default US Congress issues Russia probe subpoenas

The US House intelligence committee has issued subpoenas to President Donald Trump's former aide and his lawyer, as part of its Russia investigation.

The orders were made to fired national security adviser Michael Flynn and lawyer Michael Cohen.

The committee is one of several probes into alleged meddling by Moscow in last year's presidential election, and any collusion with the Trump campaign.

All of them have been dismissed by the president as "fake news".

There were also subpoenas reportedly issued to the CIA, the National Security Agency and the FBI seeking records related to the "unmasking" of Trump associates accidentally picked up in intercepted conversations.
