Here is the current shotgun barrel length law.

Under the National Firearms Act (NFA), it is illegal for a private citizen to possess a sawed-off modern smokeless powder shotgun (a shotgun with a barrel length shorter than 18 inches (46 cm) or an overall length shorter than 26 inches (66 cm))

Those sawed-offs makes me wonder, is there a TOS (Terms Of Service) in general on weapons?

Edit: and do guns come with a manual? (hey, it might be a stupid question but i have zero experience with guns)

New guns normally come with an instruction booklet. Used guns come normally with nothing.

In terms of trigger happy cops, watch this cop murder this guy in a hotel hallway.

He was not convicted, like normal. I can't imagine someone saying this was justified.

Based simply on the video if I had been on the jury I'd have voted not guilty.

A no shots fired situation, multiple cops pointing AR 15s at a guy on his knees in a hallway, and you shoot a guy who doesn't show a gun? If you would shoot in that circumstance, you shouldn't be a cop.

Telling him not to move and just handcuffing him seemed to be in order. I would have voted for the manslaughter charge based on that video.

I'm not a cop and I didn't say I would shoot. I said I would have voted not guilty if I had been on the jury. If multiple cops were pointing AR15s at you while you were on your knees and they are giving you explicit instructions and you still reached behind your back... maybe Darwin was right.

Default Armed citizen 1, armed robber 0.

For those of you who cannot understand why those of us who support the 2nd amendment feel the way we do...

"SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- A man eating at a Popeye's restaurant shot and killed an armed robber who threatened his family with a gun, reports say."

Default Thank you, President Obama

Former President Barack Obama took credit for the nation’s strong economy in a speech to a conference of mayors in Chicago on Tuesday. While defending his administration’s climate change policies, Obama said, “As we took these actions, we saw the U.S. economy grow consistently. We saw the longest streak of job creation in American history by far, a streak that still continues by the way,” the 44th president said. He then added wryly, “Thanks Obama.”

Who knew that the key to a strong economy was to release all those drug convicts?

Default US lawmaker quits after discussing 'surrogacy' with aides

Arizona Republican Trent Franks has said he will resign amid an ethics investigation into conversations he had with female staff about surrogacy.

The announcement came after a congressional panel said it was opening an inquiry into sexual harassment claims against Mr Franks.

The lawmaker said he discussed surrogacy with two female aides when he and his wife were facing infertility.

He is the third member of Congress to resign in three days.

"I have recently learned that the Ethics Committee is reviewing an inquiry regarding my discussion of surrogacy with two previous female subordinates, making each feel uncomfortable," the 60-year-old Republican said in a statement on Thursday.

"I deeply regret that my discussion of this option and process in the workplace caused distress."

Mr Frank's statement did not specifically mentioned whether he had asked his female staff members to bear his child.

So, Franks resigns because he 'discussed' surrogacy. But that jackass sorta-pedofile Roy Moore is still running, with a lot of people in his state still behind him. Well, I'd ask those Republicans the same thing that was asked of Senator McCarthy during his 'witch hunt': "Have you no sense of decency?"

I really like this article that I found in today's paper...

Republicans are failing the Roy Moore test

Quote:
The prospect of Sen. Roy Moore has been both horrifying and clarifying. It would be difficult to design a more controlled, precise test of the moral gag reflex in politics.
In this political lifeboat dilemma, Republicans are being asked what principles they are willing to throw overboard in the interest of power. A belief that character matters in politics? Splash. A commitment to religious and ethnic inclusion? Splash. Moral outrage at credible charges of sexual predation against teen girls? Splash.
Quote:
Those willing to swallow all this — all the ignorance, cruelty, creepiness and malice — have truly shown the strength of their partisan commitment. A purity indistinguishable from mania.
The Moore test has been useful in its own way. It has exposed corrupt leaders. President Trump’s eventual endorsement of Moore was predictable, given his personal interest in discrediting the credible accusations of exploited women. The support of the Republican National Committee revealed a political party with no judgment, no standards and a cloudy future among the young and morally sentient. All Moore’s allies and enablers have marked themselves as unfit for leadership. The untainted among them Sens. Mike Lee, Bob Corker, Jeff Flake, Cory Gardner, Susan Collins, Thom Tillis, Lindsey O. Graham, John McCain, Steve Daines, Bill Cassidy and Ben Sasse — are far and away the best positioned to play positive roles in a Republican recovery.
