Our one day side, Australia this is, is a bit of a mess and has been for a little while. All our domestic 1st class one day games happen at the start of our season. This is happening around September/October. So by the time we tour or even play in our summer, the only forms of cricket are tests and and big bash league. There's only 4 day games before and after and they go on hold for two months pretty much.
We are very much losing our way with the 50 over game and where it fits in. |

Well the ladies say to the men "Anything you can do we can do just as well"
Ok. This was only that biff 'n bash non-cricket T20 but 250 sure ain't bad. And the men have only managed a measly 230 Gotta pity those SA bowlers. Two games in one day and they get pasted for over 200 twice. |

Just as Englands ECB are concentrating on winning that elusive 50 over trophy Cricket Australia are after 2 things - the one trophy they havent won - T20 - winning the Ashes in England again After winning 5 50 over trophies its not exactly a priority |

I'm getting kinda bored watching England win these games (Perhaps I should turn my att. to footie )
So today's silly Q . is one I never gave any thought to before. In the pj games all players have a number on their back. How are these numbers determined and what is their significance (sorry that's 2 Q's but I told you I am bored right now) |

I believe players choose the number of choice providing no one else in the team is using that number. Chris Gayle wears 45 for the Windies and 333 in the IPL, something to do with his highest score.

When touring Oz Roger Twose chose 87... and received more than a flea in his ear, every time.
87 is Oz's supposed "unlucky" no., 13 shy of... A bit like 111 for Eng/NZ. edit: correction. Last edited by effCup; June 22nd, 2018 at 12:21 PM.. |

Funny ol' game tis cricket.
The ladies pretty well beaten in their first of two games today against SA although it could have been closer, or even different, had their held their catches. And come the 2nd now against NZ it looked for some time that it was going to be 2 from 2. But the catches stuck and victory gained. Top of the table with the final round of games to come next week. Baring a major upset I do expect the final to be between England and NZ. |

Someone, forget right now who, once said "Funny ol' game tis cricket"
Restrict Oz to a nothing score and then really struggle to get there being 114-8 (IIRC) at one stage. That strength in depth was never more important this day yet (sorry to be boring again) sterner tasks lay ahead. Maybe a wake-up call that results can not be taken for granted. |

Excuse my language but that was ******* amazing, even more so as the Baggy Green's were the opposition.

Forget the World Cup.
Scarbados looks wonderful today. Live streaming of Yorks vs Surrey from County champs. Morne Morkel looks fearsome. http://www.skysports.com/cricket/new...shire-v-surrey |
