It doesn't take a great deal of brains to get to the top if you have no sense of decent restraint, no empathy, no ethics, a disdain for rules and are a narcissistic sociopath. Being successful and not being a total dick-wad requires brains. Being born rich and then bullying, cheating and generally fucking people over to get to the top doesn't.

Hitler wasn't that bright; he was just ruthless. He took the his opponents by surprise, not by outsmarting them, but by ignoring the rules, laws, treaties etc. that it would never have occurred to them to violate. That's not genius; it's just cheating.

It's the same with Trump, how many times did he issue threats during the primaries and the election? I don't recall ANY serious candidate for national office in the western world in my lifetime threaten violence if he's not elected or to destroy his party if he's not nominated. And don't get me started on all the lies, slanders and false accusations.

Would a genius go bankrupt as many times as Trump? A crook would. And besides, whose idea was it to sell "Trump Steaks" at Sharper Image stores? Not a genius, surely.

Just as an FYI Trump's bankruptcies were all businesses that he had, I can't find any reliable info that he ever filed a personal bankruptcy. Not saying it isn't out there somewhere, maybe.

For those anticipating a Trump impeachment with relish I offer this aside.
If it is successful and Pence becomes the POTUS it is quite possible he could actually unify the R's in to a coherent political party.

they would need to break orthodoxy and govern according to situations and govern according to the needs of the people, not the wants of their donors. The party that does that is the party that would be worth following...

True, Santee, but remember his companies that went bankrupt four times were casinos.

What kind of a genius do you have to be to go bankrupt running a casino?

This is a business built on the fact that people come in prepared to lose money to you!

Default Former FBI boss to lead Russia inquiry

Former FBI boss Robert Mueller has been named as a special counsel to oversee a probe into Russia's alleged interference in the US election.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said it was "in the public interest" to bring an outsider in to oversee the investigation.

Calls for a special prosecutor have mounted since President Donald Trump fired the FBI director last week.

Mr Mueller is a former prosecutor who served as FBI chief from 2001 to 2013.

Then you are SOL. As a registered Democrat, I am forced to admit that the party seems incapable of formulating rational and coherent ideals. The PC crowd recently got their panties in a wad (knickers in a bunch? or is it twisted?) when Nancy Pelosi stated that religious liberals belong in the party despite having moral objections to abortions.

(BTW, I have grave misgivings about the moral and emotional hazards of abortions, but do not believe it that it is proper to force my views on women. Frankly, I don't know nothin' about birthin' no babies and don't have a dog in these hunts.)

The greatest challenge in the West is adjusting our thinking to reality. Our ancestors had centuries of experience in living and working together. Many traditional conservative values are reflect the inherited wisdom of centuries and not to be discarded lightly. (oops, back on the soapbox again. )
