There's truth in that. Establishment politicians in US/UK hate RT, especially when it gives news the West is not supposed to hear, and they get egg on their faces

They don't hate it, no-one really cares about it because no-one watches it in the UK. Only 1% watch anything of it at all weekly. http://www.barb.co.uk/viewing-data/w...ewing-summary/
Those that do occasionally like me probably do so more out of curiosity or to laugh at it.

People actually watched Al-Jazeera because it wasn't just seen as a mouthpiece of a regime unlike RT. No doubt RT reports itself as very popular but hated and persecuted by politicians in the UK.

I think no one is watching Al-Jazeera in the UK, because the BBC (I'm talking about the "BBC-World") is relatively well-balanced in their news.

For German stations it's true, Al-Jazeera is sometimes widen the view.

And in case of RT nearly everyone knows, what one can expect of those Russian "forced into -Putin- line" station(-s) news-propaganda, funded by the Russian government. The same we have with Turkish stations/papers meanwhile as you may have noticed. Independence is looking different.

I hope you are ok this morning stralis440. I had to back off a bit last night myself as I had 5 quests for a full English and Lions Rugby this morning. Well played Lions, just not good enough yet for the full 80. They had a 15-20 min spell where they won, and a ref who refused to ping them for not rolling away until it was too late. I am not bitter though, but I am looking forward to next week when I don't have to cook.

I mentioned establishment politicians, not the unwashed, sports and celebrity-obsessed plebeians

Trump, the Clintons, Kerry, the BBC & others have noticed it, and they do say they hate it

Default Grenfell Tower

Now the police investigations found out:

The "fire-point" was the "Hotpoint" (in the true sense of the word ) Fridge-Freezer combination model number FF175BP or graphite fridge freezer model number FF175BG. These models were discontinued in 2009, but 64,000 were sold between March 2006 and July 2009. It is not known how many are still in use. One can find the model number on a sticker behind the salad container of the fridge.

I never in my life heard before about a freezer blown up into flames.
An iron or a badly cleaned dryer - yes, but a freezer .

The company Hotpoint (UK) parents are Haier (Chinese) & Whirlpool (American).

The name "Haier" is not even standing for products, having a good quality or being sustainable/obsolescent. More for a planed obsolescence.

And no one heard BBC in Germany during the early 40s. For real. We Germans were good citizens. Back then.

Whirlpool have a bad rep at the moment with all the faulty tumble driers, that are on recall, but being done so rather at a snails pace.

A bit political this really but I fear anything made in China, including the chips in the laptop I am using, as it constantly overheats.

Also they are prety good at faking things, and flooding our market with them.

I actually do watch it occasionally - just to get a different viewpoint - but am also wryly amused by it at times. In fact, the coverage on and around our recent election debacle was quite good.

But I did have to laugh when questions were raised about the workings of our democracy - at the same time as the leader of the opposition was being arrested in Russia because of an "unauthorised" anti-Putin demo.
