Dolly Parton story, Fact or Urban Myth?

No photos I'm afraid, just a dusty old recollection. Dusty - but very clear.

I swear that in the early to mid-80s sometime I read in a newspaper (in Australia) that Dolly Parton once arrived at some place in a car or limousine and got out wearing nothing (naked in other words) and walked into wherever place it was. It said something like, all she was wearing was her trademark big smile and nothing else. I can’t swear that it happened, but I can swear that I read it.

Did anyone else remember such a thing? I did not make this up, but I suppose it could easily have been made up by someone that told a newspaper or a journalist that it happened. I can’t imagine her doing it ever, early in her career or later in her career. I did not imagine it. It wasn’t front-page news or anything like that. It could have even been in a magazine. Naturally there were no photos accompanying it.

I’m not losing my mind, I definitely read it and it definitely said it was Dolly Parton and it was definitely in the 80s ‘sometime’. But as I said, I can’t vouch for the accuracy of whether it happened or didn’t happen – unless someone out there has any other recollection of this story, or in fact that it happened [I think it’s most likely bullshit myself] but I say again, I read it for sure because I’ve never forgotten it.

Frankly, I reckon there’d be more chance of the Queen of England streaking (in the 1980s) than Dolly Parton. I think she likes to maintain the ‘mystery’ regardless of how much she often lets some of it hang out or wears clothes that are a size-or-two too small. I recall a cousin of hers, I think with the surname Parton, posed nude once, and she was upset about it, disgracing the name or something. But as this cousin (rightly) pointed out, she’s [Dolly] gained plenty of fame/adulation out of her boobs, why can’t I, or words to that effect.*

It doesn't really matter if it happened or not, if anyone had a camera handy (assuming it happened) and took photos they would have surfaced by now you would assume (imagine what they'd be worth - Dolly Parton naked - especially when she was 30-plus years younger?).

* There is or was a nude/topless model isn’t there called someone-Parton? I don’t know if it’s her or not.

I don't recall hearing that story (although I hope it's true) but I do remember seeing an interview where she admitted to streaking across Tom Jones' garden.

I think she told years back she was in a car with Burt and they stopped for a red light and she jumped out topless and ran around the car for laughs.
