I would seriously love it if cops were given the right to beat the shit out of (some) today's youth

Without going into much detail, not long before closing time, I need a leak, was standing at the urinal minding my own business.... Some young shithead, about 20 I guess started to take a leak from a distance and laughing. This is where I fucked up, I asked him not in a real polite manner either to cut out his pathetic manners. He and his mate then wanted to start a fight I came to with seconds of getting my head beaten in. I tried backing off when I realized that these 2 weren't drunk, they were high on some drug one of my pet hates I'm just damn lucky one of my own mates came in and helped out. This spoiled out into the bar and then the bouncers came... The shitheads were thrown out along with me and my mate. Bouncers come and go, but before we came back up to Melbourne today we went back to the bar, the owners we know sort of and squared off the story. He knew I wasn't crapping and accepted my apology and no harm done. He also said he's sick of the drug scene.

What happened to just going out and having a few ( too many) drinks and actually having a good time........ Drugs Fuck em I have no sympathy for any drug user and the shit life that goes with hard drugs
Some drugs lead to hyper-aggression. It seems as if violent pr*cks are attracted to them, which only makes them more dangerous. Just what is needed, a way to make mean drunks meaner.

If you can imagine, we have some politicos here wanting to allow bar patrons to carry loaded guns, which has been illegal here since the 19th century. The "Wild West" earned its reputation due to the prevalence of drunkards with guns. Recent studies have shown that 75% of males in the Old West died in accidents or at the hands of another.

I hear you about drugs. As a child of the Sixties, I tried them all. Brief exposure to habitual users quickly demonstrated that this was an undesirable path. Sadly, some of our crew were unlucky and wound up dead or imprisoned before the age of 30.

I hate Extended Family events, I do not want to go to Anniversaries, Birthday parties of people I rarely see, do not really like, and I have nothing to say to, just to give them an expensive present. This goes for Christmas as well. Give the kids their presents , lets eat & drink. Do not give me a crappy present that I do not want, Do not invite me to some distant relatives. Do not send out invites
I am not bitter & twisted, I am kind & generous , I just hate going where I do not want to go.

Manufacturers who over complicate simple things

Case in point Savlon blister plasters
Just been to the gym and wore new trainers, after 20 mins on the treadmill my ankle was sore so simple enough answer, pick up blister plasters on the way home.
They used to be so simple, one side went to the skin and there was a side you had to peel off after it stuck, now you peel off both sides, one is marked 1 & 2 the other 3 so you assume that is the order you peel them off in.
After throwing 2 away as they would not stick the third one seems OK so far but why feel the need to change something that worked perfectly fine for years

Next time I'll buy the supermarket's own brand

Edit - the third one has come off now

I don't know if it was photoshopped, but I once saw a pic of a US peanut bag. On the outside were these words: "Instructions: 1. Open bag. 2. Eat nuts"

Yes there a lot of apparently unnecessary sentences in some labels. The reason though is that at least one moron has done it so to CTA they then add to their warnings.
Case in point that infamous, at least in the US, McDonald's coffee incident.
And the most annoying part to me is the outrageous sums juries here award the morons with and the judges who don't at the very least cut the amounts down.

Yes, that would annoy me too. But you let justices serve way past their use-by date. Is justice-senility the reason for outsized awards?

Depends on the state and level. A lot are elected and at the higher levels they are usually appointed. Pay back for political support is not uncommon. There are means to unseat a judge but rarely done.
Federal judges are appointed from the SCOTUS down to a certain level by the POTUS with Congressional approval the lower are just appointed.
As you can imagine over here judges are appointed or elected varies from state to state.
In my state judges are mainly elected but once in office they either run unopposed or get reelected because they are in that office.

Sorry if TMI.

If interested Fed judges here:

The McDonald's coffee case gets trotted out on a regular basis as an absurd result, except nobody mentions how badly burned she really was.

She sustained 3rd degree burns on her genitals. For those of you unfamiliar:

1st Degree: It's red and it hurts.
2nd Degree: It's red and has blisters.
3rd Degree: Blackened, charred flesh

Now if you want your genitals charred to a blackened crisp for several million dollars step right up.

Otherwise, wouldn't you agree at some point the coffee was too damn hot?
