Who is your favorite sexy 60s TV star?
Apologies to dom420, because I readily admit that I ripped off the idea for this thread from his Jeannie Vs. Samantha poll. As I stated there, although I prefer the more natural hairstyles and makeup of the 1970s, there really seemed to be a backlash against sexy actresses in mainstream media in the 70s. I think the TV stars of the 60s were much more beautiful than their 70s counterparts, for the most part. (I do have to confess that I think Lynda Carter is probably the most beautiful woman to ever step in front of a TV camera, though.)
Also as an aside, my opinion on 60s TV stars isn't just childhood nostalgia. I wasn't even born until the 70s. Who are some of your favorite TV beauties from the 60s? Anyway, here are my top 5: 1) Julie Newmar (Batman / My Living Doll) I went ahead and mentioned My Living Doll because the argument could be made that she was only a guest on Batman and not a regular. 2) Lori Saunders (Petticoat Junction) - Petticoat Junction never matched the pure brilliance of its sister shows The Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres. I'm betting since Petticoat Junction has pretty much fallen into obscurity that Ms. Saunders won't even get any other mentions. 3) Yvonne Craig (Batman) - Batman is one of my favorite shows anyway, but between Julie, Yvonne and the various molls, it did feature a great collection of beautiful women. 4) Donna Douglas (The Beverly Hillbillies) During its first two seasons, Hillbillies was among the funniest shows in the history of television. It remained entertaining through most of its run, although the last two seasons are horrible and can actually be physically painful to watch. 5) Elizabeth Montgomery (Bewitched). I really don't like the show, because I can't stand Darrin, but she was so gorgeous I still can't help checking out an episode now and then. Honorable mention: Although I do NOT think she was beautiful, I also have to mention Green Acres star Eva Gabor. She was a brilliant comedic actress and her performance brought a lot to the surreal humor of Green Acres. I find it a shame that she is far less famous than her much less talented sister, Zsa Zsa. Oh, and don't hesitate to list an actress that I didn't mention in the poll. I would have listed more, but it was limited to 10 choices. Last edited by sidaris; March 7th, 2015 at 02:33 PM.. Despite a strikingly similar appearance between the two, to the point that some thought they were twins, Eva was actually more beautiful than Zsa Zsa. And despite being not as talented, Zsa Zsa was always more outspoken, and much more willing to go after what she wanted. Eva was much more coolheaded in that regard.

As well as a couple you have mentioned, Elizabeth Montgomery and Barbara Eden I would also add Linda Cristal, who played Victoria Cannon in the "High Chapperal" , Yvonne De Carlo (Lily) and Pat Priest (who was the 2nd Marilyn Munster) in "The Munsters"

Yvonne Craig, Elizabeth Montgomery, Barbara Feldon, Dawn Wells and Mary Tyler Moore are all among my favorites from the 60's. Hard to pick just one.
Others worthy of mention from 60's TV include Marlo Thomas (That Girl), Diana Rigg (The Avengers) and Sally Field (Gidget/Flying Nun). Last edited by fordprefect739; March 19th, 2015 at 12:34 PM.. |

I wish I could have added more choices. It just hit me that I forgot to include Nichelle Nichols, which is really bad since I have a Star Trek calendar hanging in my field of vision from the computer. My top 5 would still remain the same, though.
