Thanks for all the help and suggestions, but so far no joy. I have tried Downthemall and it just downloads the thumbnails and quite often freezes as well and and crashes Firefox. Imagehostgrabber just seems to go into a loop with a message that says 'Running', but nothing happens and Flashgot just downloads the thumbnails like Downthemall. Also tried something called Any Image Downloader - which did absolutely nothing. I cannot find the image-hoster plugin when I search FF for add ons, will have a look tomorrow see if I can find it elsewhere. The problem must be with the website, appears to be designed to make users download images one-by-one.

newest version (FF 8 compatible) is here: https://github.com/downloads/downthe...iner-1.2-0.xpi (when you select a post or a complete thread for downloading, always choose section "links" and not "images/media" before you save the selected files, choose "images/media" only if your browser displays fullsize images) |

Per Hos' suggestion, try anti-container. Also, when using Downthemall, are you selecting file from the "Links"? when the downthemall console comes up, in the upper left hand corner, you'll see two buttons, one marked "links" and the other marked "pictures and media". Generally, with image galleries, if "pictures and media" is highlighted, you'll get the thumbnails-- you want to be selecting the files with the "links" button selected |

Sorry, forgot to mention that the site is the 'vault' of old bondage photos on the Harmony Concepts website
I've got DownThemAll! 2.0.8, which as far as I can tell is the current version and the version of anticontainer that I'm running is 1.01 I tried to update the Anticontainer just now, but got the following message 'DownThemAll! AntiContainer 1.2 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 3.6.15.' Normally, I use the Downthemall selection function to download pics, and that works fine for me here on VEF. But on the Harmony vault, that just downloads the thumbnails, and selecting the links with Downthemall just downloads html files - not even the thumbs. if you haven't updated to FF 8 then you can use the old anticontainer version (1.1)

have you thought about the possibility that the paysite didn't want that you massdownload their content, even as paying member? in your stead i would contact the website, this is no Downthemall-issue. but you can workaround: copy the url of one fullsize image of a gallery you like to have and remove the last part of it - the filename. call this modified version of the url with your browser and you should be able to see a list of all files located in this folder. usually it should be the complete gallery. try downthemall now (again via option "links"). i've checked this with a sample gallery of their website and it worked, if you have luck, the scheme is the same in the member area - for all galleries. |

Looking at the samples page, I find that the index page is actually an index to a series of webpages, not to the actual images. There are two strategies to deal with a site like this. One is to use a "spider" -- I like "Teleport Pro" best, but it cost money. It basically crawls through a website and downloads files meeting specifications (eg JPGs> 65 KB or whatever). Is highly recommended. There are some other free spider programs, but as I use Teleport, I can't speak to which of them is best\ Teleport is very fast and efficient, and allows you to input username/password for membership sites. With more manual intervention, you can use (free) Flashgot's "build gallery" function: Looking at a website hXXp://www.SomeWebsiteorOther.c0m/www/samples/101411/_rebeccawells/images/010.jpg you could build a gallery with the parameters hXXp://www.SomeWebsiteorOther.c0m/www/samples/[101411-101411;1]/_rebeccawells/images/[001-025;1].jpg You can then save the gallery as a whole. |

Anyone masters VLC Media Player?
Hi people
I found this place is really multidisciplinary, so I am not afraid of asking: Anyone knows how to generate a simple MPG file with an ordinary webcam and VLC Media Player? I have installed the last version, and found lots of places with instructions for former versions but as I get deeper and deeper in options and options, I only get lost. Many thanks in advance! |

if you have a webcam, it usually includes a software to record the display (a constant stream of single images) into a movie file, check the manual of the webcam for further info. vlc is no help here cause vlc only plays movie files, it doesn't record them.
if this recorder software doesn't offer the MPG format as destination and you definitly want to have your movie in this format, you need a converter tool. |
