Since no-one else is mentioning it, I must note that Stockholm has just reaped the rewards of either:
1. All of Sweden's intervention in the ME and the marginalization of the Moslems there, or
2. An insane PC attitude of appeasement and mass immigration of Moslems.

On a side note, Trump has just lost the support of about half of his core supporters by bombing Syria.

This is to be expected. We do not find Jews adopting the barbaric code of the Old Testament. Routine public hangings, beheadings, floggings, etc. are no longer practiced in Western nations. Our churches are no longer allowed to burn heretics at the stake. Actually, there are a type of 'sharia law' courts (I don't know if they are acutally 'courts' as we would understand them) in Britain, though I think they only deal with things like divorce or somthing, and I have seen clips of 'sharia patrols' in Britain who even talk to non-muslims about drinking booze in parks etc. (if memory serves), so there is some acceptance of sharia law even in Britain.

But what happens if Muslims ever become the majority in a country that is presently a non-muslim country?

Many years ago many wesern countries had what is termed a 'Reformation' which included observance of religious laws. Most of the vicious relgious laws were more or less abandoned, with observance of the remainder gong out of favour over the years.

I don't know about jewish people, but I get the impression that they went through a similar thing at some point.

I am convinced that Islam cannot withstand much critical scrutiny of much of its doctrine. Note that in Afghanistan, where most of the population is illiterate, folks believe that sharia should be imposed. In Uzbekistan, which is 90% Muslim and has a 99% literacy rate, only 1 in 10 believes sharia should be imposed. But, claiming that Islam was dictated to the Prophet by the Archangel Gabriel because Muhammed said so is an obvious tautology. Educated people of faith are forced to confront such problems.

In observing Muslims, the best Muslims live to a high moral code featuring generosity and compassion. In this respect they are like the best Christians. Most Muslims seem to be like most Christians, taking a pick and choose approach to the tenets of their religion. The main motivation for these religious, but not really spiritual or particularly moral folks found in all faiths, is the desire to belong to a "Chosen People" and to claim moral superiority to outsiders. Obviously, their claims don't hold water when critically examined. The Quran appears to contain as much gobbledygook as the Holy Bible.

As an off topic aside, we have many folks who denigrate communism, which had some really glaring flaws, but in researching for this post, it was quite noteworthy that former communist nations have much higher rates of literacy than Western capitalist countries.
