On another point, I've just seen that Daniel Sturridge has signed for Liverpool. Now I don't see as much of the English top flight as I'd like to - I pull double shifts most Sundays and Mondays - but don't Liverpool already have a young striker who doesn't score any goals. Called Andy Carroll ? I know that they're different players, although both have reputations far beyond their talents, but what has Sturridge actually done; to have trousered so much money from now three "Big" clubs ?

On another tack. My troops in hoops have two youngish Englishmen to thank, as we edged a stodgy encounter this afternoon. We were the better side but it was one of those festive period games that make you yearn for a winter break. Which we now have.

We had a lot of the ball against Stuart McCall's Motherwell side, but we toiled to get behind their back five. The game was meandering to nowhere when they were awarded a pen during their best period of play. with more than an hour gone. I think it was a good decision. Young goalie Fraser Forster made a cracking good save to keep thing level before, a few minutes later, Gary Hooper tapped in from a Samaras cross - to give us all three points.

Now I very much want to see both lads stay at Celtic for years to come, but it'd be nice to see Roy Hodgson give them a decent run at International level. I'd rather see them get a chance here - winning titles and playing in Europe - than going back down south to fight relegation in the hope of a call-up. Forster has made the squad of course, while Hooper commits that most heinous of crimes - he JUST scores goals. Lots of them. Actually his link work and off the ball running are excellent for us, and without him we ain't the same team.

Anyway lads, Hail Hail and a Happy New Year to you - one and all.

He was gonna be my idol this season....Then AVB sold him!
Thought her left us for Germany to be with her more

But hey! you won't hear me moan for a while! Unless Coventry?? knock us out the FA Cup! Suppose we'll abuse the competition with an understrength team to rest them for......................Oh it's QPR and 'Arry

Joe Cole currently at Upton Park trying to agree terms, if he signs we will get him for free as Liverpool are prepared to cancel his contract.

I wonder if anyone will take Gary O'neill of our hands?
