Bravo
I recently became aware that the German mag Bravo is on our banned list.
Would it be OK though to link directly to Bravo's own web site? I suspect the ban is due to copyright issues in which case such links should be IMO permissible, but then - I do not know the reason behind the ban. The reason I'm asking is that I could keep some of my (pictureless) celeb mag cover indexes more complete by linking their Bravo covers directly over there rather than omitting them (or keeping them unlinked). |

The ban was due to underage nudity pics sometimes appearing in Bravo.

I have to say that surprises me - "underage nudity sometimes appearing in" puts the bar pretty low for a full ban on a mag; on those grounds you could ban pretty much any non-porn mag. Looking at Bravo's 52 covers from 1968 (link to Bravo homepage) there is no nudity and the youngest person on any of those 52 covers (I checked them all) was Bonanza's Michael Landon, then aged 21. I actually doubt that there was any nudity of any kind in Bravo before the 1970s, and the mag started in 1956.
More persistent offenders against that underage-nudity criterion (than mags aimed at teenagers) are actually nudist mags, like e.g. Health & Efficiency. I haven't seen here a blanket ban for those though... |

Due to the specific nature of the reason it was banned several years ago I would have no objection to relaxing the rule to allow front covers featuring celebs being used. I have raised this in the mods forum and I believe it presents a reasonable compromise.

may take into account that Bravo is a mag for teenagers and not for adults.

(what i wanted to point on : having teenage magazines as part in our forum, we may have visitors we don't want to see here. young teens googling for their mag and want to find stuff from their mag may find search results which leads to places they shouldn't go to. sure we can't do much against it that such things happen, but imho the ban of teenage magazines like Bravo is an option to avoid an invitation for children to our adult forum)

This is an adult Forum. Isn't there a more appropriate place for clothed celebrity pics?
