"New Posts"

How does the New Posts feature work?

I always assumed it simply displayed the most recent posts from all forums arranged in order of posting time.

However, whenever I post something and quickly then click on "new posts" my post doesn't appear there. Even after refreshing a few times. No other new posts seem to appear there either.

So maybe it's only something that get's refreshed after a certain period, rather than 'live'

Anyone know how this works?

it won't show posts that you've visited , therefore you won't see a post you have just made

but it is listed for others to see

I find that new posts doesn't show everything. Occasionally, you can click on a specific forum and there will be new posts there that don't appear on the new posts list. No idea why I'm afraid.
