"Thanks" not holding after leaving thread

May just be my weak old PC, but unless I do a refresh before leaving a thread page, "Thanks" I've made will occasionally disappear????

Apologies if a thread for this already exists.

I don't think I have ever seen that, if the "Thanks" has been recorded under "The Following User(s) Say(s) Thank You to <member> For This Useful Post:" column, it stays that way.

However (this is what you probably meant) it can happen that your Thanks is recorded late, or sometimes not at all. Assuming JavaScript is enabled, clicking on the "Thanks" button removes that button immediately (this is done in the browser, no connection to the server required) and sends a request to the web server in the background. If there are problems with your network connection, or with the server's connection to the forum database, this may take a while, or not happen at all - in which case the Thanks button reappears when you refresh the page.

This is how much I understand the issue, our expert hos could explain it in full detail.

Aha This happens to me too, I quite often come back to a thread and just know I have clicked " Thanks " but it has disappeared. That could explain it.

This is due to an issue with server caching. We run on multiple servers and this version of VB was not built to run with multiple servers and databases this large.

There is no real fix available for this issue at this time except for a major software upgrade so we have to live with it for now. Sorry...
