Kraut is certainly not always derogatory. Krautrock, for instance, although a term invented by the English, was taken up and used by the German bands practicing that style of music.

If a potato is green it's poisonous - but you can eat the non-green bits quite safely. You can also eat sprouted potatoes but not the sprouts themselves as they are also poisonous.

Pink used to be the colour for boys and blue for girls before it was changed around. However, studies have shown that boys and girls both prefer blue.

In Malta, if a man came home and found a priest's hat on his doorknob, he went round the block a few times. It meant that the priest was being 'entertained' by the man's wife, and didn't want to be disturbed.
