When I first moved too Melbourne, I lived with an old friend from my hometown for the first 18 months.... I went too visit her today, and then took

this local pizza joint menu off her fridge door... So I could scan it

That's typical of a local pizza joint that ain't a restaurant, just take away, in Oz. That place made a lot of cash from me, I loved the Sicilian

and the Prosciutto

Who the hell am I kiddin'

I loved any that had meat

Pizza is the one food that I have yet to find THE perfect combination of crust, sauce, cheese, & toppings to satisfy me. One or two have come close, but something was lacking. Yet my search continues.

As for what I like in a pizza ....

Crust - Thin, but not tortilla thin also not super thick. That's too doughy.
Sauce - Spread evenly and with just a little bite to it.
Cheese - Mozzarella only and generous amounts of it.
Toppings - Pepperoni, pepperoni and more pepperoni. But I am getting a taste for sausage(Italian) and ground beef. But under no circumstances will I even get near a pizza with anchovies. Ugh.

Also, who ever thought it would be a good idea to mix ham and pineapple on a pizza should be beaten with a club. That's desecration in my book.

And I agree wholeheartedly that Pizza Hut is not, nor will it ever be pizza. The same can also be said for Little Caesar's.

My sister lives in Amherst, OH with her family and their local joint (Olde Towne Pizza) makes really good pizza. One time I went to pick up the food there, and I told the owner that I was from Buffalo and knew good pizza. I then said, "You'd make money in Buffalo."

Plus if you took the chance to search through her purse (While she was throwing up immediately afterwards) and pocketed a decent amount (Of kickback) you can also get that pizza technically for free.

I have to say the best Pizza I ever had was on Gozo at a little seaside joint run by 2 Sicilians. Proper stuff, thin, tasty, hot and with just the right amount of toping. Not something I get around the hometown.

i went there with a friend a long time ago, the pizzas were huge, completely hand made, the toppings and cheese were real...
they are still in business after all these years, the owner created the business from nothing...
it was the best pizza i had had in ages...
dammit, that is hours away from here, it might almost be worth the trip...v

No good pizza? Gotta disagree with you on that.I travel the U.S. for my job, and I haven't had a bad pizza yet in New York,Philly, or S. Jersey, I've had plenty of awful pizzas in the Midwest and South, had a few mediocre and ok in Northwest, and to be honest Cal. pizza made me laugh. My all time favorite is Lorenzos in S. Philly.

I have'nt eaten pizza in 15 years. Estreeter nearly died from something when I told him, but it's true

Pizzas are best homemade. But you need to be patient, because a real pizza is not fast food. Ignore Italians & Corsicans who tell you different

If time was available (my life is so hard) maybe I'd make pizza again... or if a colorful celebrity like MaxJoker visited, I could find some flour, yeast, cheese, tuna, salami, paprika, cyanide, onion, tomato etc... to make him happy

No seriously, I wouldn't really give him paprika, so don't think badly of me
