Silly me, thought I wouldn't find a thread on this very underrated performer! Heck, I had even clicked on thanks months/years ago, not realizing that this is Rita Rio!
I knew her as from big band shorts and youtube, Rio Rita and her orchestra. She really comes across as a fun, exciting girl...too bad someone didn't have the brains to find the right vehicles for her to star in. Sadly, some on the web just think of her as a gangsters girlfriend (He was killed in 35 )

Here she is in 1936 (either 18 or 21 depending on what date you believe as her birth) doing some really amazing dancing...takes a few minutes to get up to speed. Just found out about it tonight, and I have this movie on my DVR so will convert for a better copy soon.

It looks like the same photo shoot as zwaik's #7 post but,
mine's stamp dated "AUG 29 1948" and references the 1948 film
