If you actually face reality you will not find a single post on VEF where I have said I believe the US will disarm, I have said many times that you have crossed the Rubicon on this matter, any changes will be slight at best. Guns are part of the American psyche and sadly tens of thousands of people's lives will continue to be sacrificed to the second amendment each year.

As Rupert says this is not the thread for this discussion and I have expressed my views fully on this matter in other threads and nothing Trump has said has changed my views in any way. I think he is nothing more than an NRA glove puppet.

If "gun crimes" includes suicides then I can agree with your stats. If the teacher was a CCW permit holder than the likelihood that he would start shooting people around him/her is about 1/3rd of a policeman shooting people around them. Since you agree that guns are a part of the American culture, you are merely ranting and venting in a rhetorical post.

Hope you feel better.

I think what's being forgotten in all this discussion about secretly armed teachers is the potential legal implications, especially if things go seriously wrong - which is highly likely in a high stress situation involving a building full of kids and a marauding psycho who has a semi-automatic rifle and a bag full of ammunition. The whole idea is just ridiculous and I doubt if the majority of teachers, even in the more pro-gun US states will want to go down this road, or many are even capable of handling a situation that may involve taking life. And what happens when they kill the wrong people? The only answer to this total madness, is spend loads of money and protect every school with reliable, disciplined armed security staff and turn the facilities into fortresses.

American gun culture - What a Brit should know of it - gun owners deliver votes.

Question

No tribute to Mark E Smith at the Brit's .

Just posing for fashionable causes by Grimezy the storm artist .

They're not interested in the diversity of Brit music really .

Yo Theresa May what about money for people who aren't on rock / rap star wages and may have suffered recent misfortune ?

Put your hands in your own pocket then Grimezy .

You're dreaming thinking that teachers are going to be fearless armed undercover superheroes. This is not a Hollywood film as we found out with Deputy Scot Peterson.

It's only when a teacher shoots his whole class that you find out like the Las Vegas shooter he's not 'a good guy with a gun' but a 'bad guy with a gun' or suffering from 'mental illness' or a 'terrorist'. It's a bit late then.

Why do you now see teachers as saviours, they are as fragile and corruptible as anyone else.

I would hope that there would be extensive background checks and psychiatric evaluations before a teacher is allowed to bring His/Her .44 Magnum to school..

Or on his big strong teenage 'special needs' student with anger management problems who might want to play with it?
