What's Your Internet Speed?
I remember back when 56k modems came out and I was excited to upgrade my internet speed but since DSL back in 2000 I quit caring and was fine with internet speeds, this time I was forced to upgrade to fiber as DSL service was ended... I was able to stream 1080 movies and download files without any problem with DSL. Now I have fiber to the modem and honestly it isn't that big of a deal, not that much of a change for everyday use. The only big change is when I download paid videos and get 45 mb/s speeds, 4 gigs in a minute or two, crazy fast....
What's your internet speed? Fast enough? Worth it? Quote:

Mine is all over the place. I got the Verizon 5g that runs on the cell tower, and I am actually out of the service area they indicate, but it is my only choice. The lowest is about 45mbs, the highest about 250mbs. I live alone and don't game, so it is plenty. I don't do 1080 or HD video, though I read it would be plenty for this if I did.

Currently getting 295mbps d/l, 75mbps u/l but I'm in Hull & you pay through the nose for that kind of speed. If I could get something like VF I'd be paying about half of what I am currently for a faster service.

This was absolutely fine for me as I was able to stream Amazon movies in 1080 at their highest quality setting which is 7 mb/s and download files and browse internet on my computer while watching movies on tv.. Your speed is fine, more than fine........ |

Re: What's Your Internet Speed?
To me, it all started at 56kbit-MODEM
then 64kbit I.S.D.N. followed by 768 kbit Asymmetric digital subscriber line succeded by 1500 kbit Asymmetric digital subscriber line ensued by 6000 kbit Asymmetric digital subscriber line now sitting at 50000 kbit down and 10000 kbit upload Digital subscriber line I live in a country, where "fast and failsafe" INTERNET-connections are some kind of problematic |
