The Porn Fairy.

Now I'm not sure whether this occurance is unique to Britain, or whether it happens elsewhere in the world, but over here there has been talk of the Porn Fairy.

She's similar to the Tooth Fairy. But instead of collecting teeth and leaving money she collects old unused Girly magazines and leaves them outdoors for impressionable youths to find.

No-one has ever seen her, but many have stumbled upon her treasures. Under bushes, in woods, next to, but not in public dustbins and in forgotten drawers in hotel rooms.

My first encounter of a nudey mag was a Porn Fairy treasure - under a hedge in some grass cuttings. And I have seen many since in hedges and under trees.

When back in the day I chucked out old girly mags, I threw them in the bin, shredded or burnt them. I never left them for anyone to find. More's the pity.

This is why I believe in the Porn Fairy. She looks like Tinkerbelle from Peter Pan only she's wearing fairy stockings and suspenders and she's forgotten her knickers. Whenever she waves her wand a bit of printed smut appears under a hedgerow.

But seriously how many nudey mags are found? I mean come on.

I believe in the porn fairy. When I was a youth, all my collection came courtesy of the porn fairy. There were certain laybys out in the country that were likely spots and I used to 'do the round' on my bike whenever I could. Got some great stuff, Playbirds, Whitehouse, stacks of Fiesta and Escort. I can still remember the excitement of seeing a carrier bag full of porn stashed in a hedge.

Lately I think the porn fairy must be in retirement as you seem to find far less these days, but I guess the main provider of porn these days is the net and not top shelf magazines.

I found an old Escort under my father's bed once and he swears he has no idea how it got there but never actually found anything whilst out and about-however I will admit to nicking a few Suns once from a dustbin back in the days when it was worth getting for the page 3 pics and I also skilfully lifted one from someone at school-they left it in a classroom and I borrowed it

The porn fairy definitely existed! Back in the 1970's most of my porn came from her. I still have a fair pile of it stashed away in my shed somewhere. I think she was quite busy through to the mid 1990's and slowly found it difficult to get around. She appeared to be finally pensioned off by Bill Gates and his pals as their wonderful creation reduced the need for a groaning top shelf. Some of the mag titles have long since gone - and will be much missed.

I found a few pages from somewhere or other on waste ground when I was about 12, treasured them for years ... how we lived without the internet I don't really know.

As for who the Porn Fairy is, I once lived with a bloke who was really quite messy. The floor of his room was covered in old plates, clothes etc. and a not inconsiderable amount of pornography. He got a girlfriend and she didn't like this, and her solution was to grab arm loads of the stuff off the floor and toss it out the window.

They called me into the room and delightedly showed the view out onto the garage roof, which was now covered in pages from porn mags. I imagine quite a bit of it got caught on the breeze and later found by local youths. This was near the Wokingham Road in Reading in about 1994, so if anyone found anything in that area round then you could have your answer!

The PF is in the New World as well. In the early 60s when I was about 10, I found magazines that had actual photographs of naked people! I remember how astonished I was. It was a glimpse into a larger world - even though it was in black and white.

I remember the porn fairy well. I used to live just rund the corner from an auction room that did house clearances. There were a couple of tea chests outside that used to have stuff in for throwing out. There would regularly be mags in there I used to make daily trips past to check for new stuff. Thanks for bringing back a great memory.

A mate of mine used to travel to school by train in the late 70's/80's and reckoned you'd often find mags left under the seats: after that, I always had a look when I could but never found anything. I did pick up a couple of discarded mags in a loo once - they were very low grade (IMHO) and had been crudely annotated by someone expressing exactly what they wanted to do to various amature models... Really not worth keeping. I've also found mags dumped in a few other places and sometimes even at car boot sales but for me, despite knowing of her existance, the Porn Fairy remained elusive... until the World Wide W*nk!

I've found torn out pages in fields.. when i was younger i rode by a neighbors recycling container wit some mags in it, and one time when dropping stuff of at a public recycling center, there was a box full, just inside the container... porn fairy around here must be lazy, pretends to work but just throws em away.
