I don't believe a Trump supporter will ever believe he/she was conned.
They will blame someone. I still find it amazing that Trump never admits he was wrong on anything. |

For example, in May 1940, the first day Churchill came to the House as PM, the Tory MPs sat in sullen silence as he walked in, not a sound. They stood up and applauded when Neville Chamberlain, the newly deposed ex-PM walked in. Throughout Prime Minister's Questions, not one Tory MP made a sound, which was very significant in that traditional spoilt brat contest. It is inconceivable that this pointed demonstration could have taken place without the close personal involvement of the Tory Party parliamentary whips. Churchill summoned the Chief Whip immediately afterwards and informed him that if there was ever any repeat of that insulting demonstration of non-support, ever, Churchill would call a General Election no matter what the situation in terms of the war. The Tories knew, even then, that they were in danger of being unseated whenever that should happen. The same threat ultimately deterred many Tory MPs in 1942 in the Vote of Confidence. Ironically, he had the support of Labour and of the few Liberals. There was a phalanx of disloyal Tory MPs who hoped to win enough No Confidence votes to make Churchill's position untenable. But most of them bottled out when vote time came. Churchill did not have to stand down. He could instead go to the King and call a General Election in which all those MPs who voted to depose him would face their own electorates. They did not take a chance on it. If they had thought the people would side them against Winston Churchill I am quite sure they would have forced the issue, and as we know, they didn't force the issue. Today, in the USA, there is a president who was chosen by popular vote (regardless of the quirks in the syetem that's the fact) and who does not command support in what is supposed to be his own party. He holds power by outflanking internal opponents and using popular support in Republican voter ranks in the country to make his internal opponents watch their own backs and worry. I think there is a parallel.

Just 3 direct quotes out of many possibles.
"Nobody knew that healthcare could be so complicated."
"I loved my previous life. I had so many things going,This is more work than in my previous life. I thought it would be easier." @POTUS on getting things done in government: "It's a very rough system. It's an archaic system...It's really a bad thing for the country." referring to the Constitution. |

I'm no expert, but isn't that the point of the US Constitution? I thought this "rough and archaic system" was designed to have deliberate checks and balances in place to prevent any President becoming too tempted to abuse his (or her) powers. I suppose the Donald could always propose a constitutional referendum...after all, that worked for a certain Recep Tayyip Erdoğan...

DT Flip-Flops, now in mass-production
I thought he said getting on with Russia would be great, NATO was obsolete, getting involved in Syria was unconstitutional without Congress approval, drone attacks were bad, giving Israel anything for free was bad for America, etc etc Nothing in sight for healthcare, tax reform, infrastructure or "the Wall" either Oh well, at least he didn't attend the "fake news" night I don't know what Americans think, but Russian & Chinese leaders have noticed all this. Many others too |

Even Assad called him a puppet of the "deep state" and a man who has no foreign policy of his own.

What does it say that Trump doing as well as he is doing would do better if the election were held today than he did last November? Could it be This?

This guy, for example, thought DT was a lunatic until 2 seconds after he was elected. Now he thinks DT is God. That means England follows the unelected US deep-state with all its consequences, and without thinking for itself Seriously, I wish the UK would replace such childish imbeciles |
