Thanks given, in comparison to times a pic is viewed - Page 3

I have no idea what my biggest thanks post is. I see this forum as a sharing community. So the people who don't share will lose out eventually.

I think one of the posts that has irritated me most since I started moderating was from a guy who had made no thanks at all and started a thread in VET with a couple of pics and saying "more thanks gets more pics".

I was bloody fuming at that, I removed his post and PM'd him to stick his pics up his arse!

Planetsuzy, but registration is currently closed, mainly due to mod overload caused by the problems previously mentioned.

Said it at the sister site before - let me bring this here also. 10% is the top you can expect from them leeches - it usually varies from nil to 10... just about.

Right now - as far as the remaining 90% is concerned, my estimate is that at least half of them DO NOT want to thank. Period.

When we introduced the hide thing where you effectively need to thank to get the links - a few of them tossers started asking questions like

"why do I have to thank to get the links?" or "do we have to thank now?" - you get the idea...

Also, we saw VIP names that never thanked for some reason.

If this is not disheartening to continue posting, I don't know what is really.

I pretty much had to resign myself to the fact that I'm never going to get more than a 10% ratio for thanks vs downloads, as Brother Dohupa has stated already. I thought it was related to people who view the site, but never sign in & see a thanks button. I've run across some people in my travels that are familiar with the site, but don't have accounts here.

You share so you can have access to other unseen material
The more you share,be it content or information etc,the better chance there is the odd request you post will be met more favourably(or actually read)

The thanks system is just a bonus

I liken talking about the non-thanks to talking about trollish behaviour
The more you talk about it the more its likely to re-enforce others attitudes towards not using the thanks button because they know it grates

Just like those who put thank me in their signatures...
Its like lecturing children except your talking to adults
No surprises quite a few do the exact opposite being asked
