I saw a bit of an episode of "Be cool scooby doo".

I noticed that:

1) None of the characters look 'right'.

2) None of the characters sounded 'right'.

3) The whole programme looks like a cheap, amatuerish knock-off.

4) I wouldn't bonk the Velma in this series.

5) I wouldn't even bonk the Daphne in this series.

People may want to check out 'Inequality for All'. Its a movie by Robert Reich, a man who served as Secretary of Labor under President Clinton and in the administrations of Presidents Ford and Carter. Among other things in it he shows that for the last hundred years in the US there has been a direct correlation between how much the very wealthy are taxed and the prosperity and economic growth of the country. Historically the higher the taxes on the rich, the better the prosperity of the middle class and the country's economy are.

Heard today that due to his advancing age, James Earl Jones is selling his gun collection via a dealer. It is said his 1,200+ weapons have been getting sold beginning about six months ago. http://www.checkpointcharlies.com/ec...long-guns.html The weapons that have the "W/Provenance" come from his collection, for a small fee you get a letter signed by the actor stating the weapon was once his. He is 86 years old. There was no fuss made about these transactions.

This is something that really disturbs me, as my niece, along with her husband and 12-yo daughter, attended the Phoenix Comic-Con this week...

I don't have a lot of feeling about this matter but to those debating it, I'd like to toss out two points — one perhaps trivial, one not. We'll start with the trivial one…

Based on my own, non-scientific observations at conventions, I'd say more than 95% of the cosplayers and very nice and responsible and their cosplaying is fun and entertaining and sometimes beautiful. But a couple of percent of them are real pains and sometimes dangerous. A few of them think that if someone says, "Hey, can I get a photo of you?," they have an inalienable right to pose anywhere they want, blocking aisles, getting in others' way, swinging their swords or weaponry without worrying about who they might gouge or stick. It's been years since I've been to a con and not seen one of them stab someone — occasionally, me — or knock over a small child (I mean that literally) because nothing matters to them besides posing. If a serious injury to someone hasn't happened yet, it's only a matter of time…and it's relevant to this discussion.
Here's the non-trivial one: The man who apparently wanted to open fire on the premises with real ammo was only caught because he'd been reckless enough to post his mission on Facebook. If he hadn't, there might have been actual shots fired in that convention center. And if that had happened, the discussion about banning ray-guns and Star Wars scimitars would be a very different debate. Yeah, it's never happened but this close is too close.

Like I said, I don't really know what I would do if it were up to me. I think it's a shame for all the responsible cosplayers to have to have their acts diminished. It would be a bigger shame by an incalculable magnitude if someone got shot. I'm glad I don't have to decide what to do about this.

I agree with the action taken by the Comic-Con. When you think of characters like Marvel's Deadpool, or DC's Deathstroke The Terminator (shown below), better safe than sorry...

Never been to a Comic Con. No one has ever brought a real sword to one of those? Thought they would be checking at the door long before now. Real swords are available via mail order. http://www.coldsteel.com/katana-emperor-series.html

I mean, some of those people that go to those must be near the edge of delusional.
