Hmmm! I'm not sure. But it seems to me that Oliver Stone filmed one. Isn't it?

Edit: It was not exactly on this theme, but almost. It was "Heaven & Earth".
I don't remember very well. I watched it once 20 years ago.

Sorry to say that there was rather a lot I didn't like about this sci-fi movie and it just wasn't for me.

But I'm generally very picky about technical and scientific detail, so I don't want to spoil it for others and would be interested to read opinions from anyone else who watches it, bearing in mind that its done quite well at the box office.
I rather liked it. While the film is padded out with twaddle about the almost outbreak of ww3, in fairness to the film makers the brevity of the short story it's based on doesn't lend itself to a two hour blockbuster...and they did keep the gist of the story.

Cool I`d have liked more time spent seeing Diana as a teen , but that`s mainly because it would have enabled more scenes for Robin Wright a lady who`s as talented as she is beautiful

A film with lots of darn fine looking women in it
What`s not to love

Apart from the kind of upsetting first battle that is ...

All I know about Wonder Woman is from the telly show I used to watch... Ahem ... For fives minute spurts

Really rate this movie. Granted the CGI was split second unconvincing on a few occasions. Only so much else is happening on screen at the same time it`s hardly an issue. Also is the single bug bear thing (Considering the budget) I have to point out in anything of a negative manner.

Would definitely watch it again

BABY DRIVER

About 3 weeks ago i walked into a movie theatre and i saw a huge standee for the movie Baby Driver. There were quotes from film critics written all over it,saying how great the movie was.
In the weeks that followed ,ads on TV and on the big screen said the same thing.
I started thinking they are really hyping this movie up.
Well does it live up to the hype? Well i would say it was a bit over hyped.

Ansel Elgort is Baby, the wheel man for Doc (Kevin Spacey) who puts crews and heists together.
Baby suffers from tinnitus so he uses music to drown it out but this doesnt limit him from being a great driver and retain all the information needed for any heist he's a part of.

I was so glad to see Elgort outside of his role in the Divergent movie,i liked the character ,i related to to his love of music.
Spacey was outstanding as usual.Jamie Foxx as Leon "Bats" Jefferson was great his character is the type of side eyed, snearing, intimidating person that even when he smiles at you ,you better keep your guard up.
Jon Hamm & Eiza González were good as the Bonnie & Clyde of the crew.Jon Bernthal,Flea and
Lanny Joon make brief but noticeable appearances
Baby's romance with Lily James as Debora, was cute but has some stiff and stalling moments

This is a musical without being a musical( THANK GOD !! ) I definitely found myself tapping my feet to the music, the marriage of music set to the beats of a high tension moment or action sequence was perfect.
BD does fall into some cliched holes but fortunately not for to long,it pulls itself out of the holes by having some unexpected turns, and originality, kudos to Director and writer Edgar Wright

Definitely worth seeing in the theatre but dont go in expecting to be completely thrilled

Scale of 1-10 an 8

THE HOUSE

I loved the set up for this movie.A young lady named Alex gets into the college of her dreams but her parents Scott and Kate Johansen cant afford it so they decide to open an illegal casino with their friend Frank
Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler were good as Scott and Kate but Jason Mantzoukas was better as Frank

There was so much i liked in the film's first hour. The banter between the people of the town in which the Johansen's reside, the town council, the fight club at the casino, and just how every attempt was made to have a true blue casino inside a home.

By the last half hour with the exception of a funny cameo ,the story became predictable, there were actually recycled jokes from comedies that came out earlier this year. The ad libbing was off the charts and it made me wonder did this film have a full script?

This makes for a good cable watch

Scale of 1-10 a 6½

Most of the comedy movies I saw when I was a youngin were great. Now, though only about 2 out of 10 comedies are worth watching!
That's the same with French comedies...
They produce stupid comedies in order to receive subsidies from the state.

Americans volentered to protect innocent people from slavery & oppression. The situation was little different then Korea which need I remind you 20 countries agreed was a noble cause besides just the United States.
Yes in the end things worked out for Vietnam today, but we couldn't see the fucking future back then. We had no way of knowing it wouldn't turn out to be another case of what happened to North Korea which Is still to this day one of the most evil hellholes on the face of the earth.

Default Down by Love (Éperdument)

Yet another Great French Film ( they do make great films )
Down by Love (Éperdument)
When Anna (Adèle Exarchopoulos, Blue Is the Warmest Colour) is sent to prison, life as she knows it is turned upside down when she meets Jean (Guillaume Gallienne, Yves Saint Laurent), the prison governor for her detention centre. As the pair quickly become immersed in a whirlwind romance, their relationship brings with it high stakes and grave consequences.
Starring: Guillaume Gallienne, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Stéphanie Cléau

Note , what the Film doesn't mention is that the Adele Exarchopoulos character was involved in The Affair of the Gang of Barbarians - and was based on Sorour Arbabzadeh nicknamed Yalda (also known as "Emma"), a seventeen-year-old French-Iranian girl who acted as appât (bait, honeypot) to entrap Ilan Halimi - who was a Jew .
This was a kidnapping and torture case that gripped and shocked France both because of the fear of resurgence of anti-Semitism (because the crime was motivated by that and money) and also because of the vicious nature of the crime committed.
If you were French you would know this , but a fault of the film is it doesn't spell this out , as it was aimed at a French market .

It's not so much that you can't see the future as it is you never learn anything from the past. You just keeping repeating history over and over, only now you got an alpha-imbecile in the top job.
