Logan
...I dunno, I must have seen a parallel universe version of the film everyone is raving about. A turgid, overblown plot. Stewart and Jackman phoning in their performances, a kid who can't act, a group of kids that can't act, a vaudevillian villain, an evil doctor and a plethora of cannon fodder bad guys who go charging to their deaths...but there's always more of 'em...at least until the end when apparently they all get killed. And that tear jerker ending...wow I didn't not see that coming! I'm giving it no claws that shoot out of his knuckles. |

I will - but at a later date. I've no interest to repeat such a dull experience.

For fans of Kilmer ,
Only really. As it`s quite the low grade generic movie with stumbling touches of Frantic and The Tourist. Where our lead plays a Doctor who get`s caught up with the Russian mafia in Bulgaria that believe him a secret agent. Throw in a tasty woman who has baddies hot on her trail. Then it`s tons of chasing fun and fist shaking frustration with many glances at how much time remains until it`s over Nah just kidding It`s not that out and out crummy. Val puts in a performance none to shabby either. The same can't be said for anybody else though Certainly not the director or writer (Same sodding person). Main man pictured below firing his agent

On this long three day Memorial Day weekend I have been watching my Clint Eastwood western movies. I don't have all of them, but most of them: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly trilogy, Hang 'em High, High Plains Drifter, Two Mules for Sister Sara, Joe Kidd, The Outlaw Josey Wales and others. I never get tired of watching Eastwood. He is so good in almost every movie he made. The one movie I did not like him in was "Play Misty for Me". I also have all his Dirty Harry movies, and some misc movies like Gran Torino (one of his all time best)!

Baywatch
Based on the long running Baywatch and short lived Baywatch TV shows Baywatch is another movie that cant decide what it wants to be Raunchy comedy? Action adventure with a little drama? Or a straight parody? Some of jokes worked, and there's some fun to be had The cast does their best with the schizophrenic script, the women are beyond beautiful A lot of jokes go on far to long A scene fades out on a joke that starts off funny but then fades back in to the same joke which made it grating A lot of talent is wasted ,some of the green screen work is terrible This movie was like watching a Skinemax flick that's trying to have a story but minus the skin....well there's skin but not the type of skin I wanted to see for a long period of time Scale of 1-10 a 3 |

Tortured myself with some cheesy 80s horror last night
A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985)
Trailer A new family, the Walshes, move into the notorious house on Elm Street. Their teenage son Jesse (Mark Patton) has a repeating nightmare in which he is stalked by a maniacal school bus driver. Jesse goes to school with Lisa Webber (Kim Myers) and is best friends with Ron Grady (Robert Rusler). During another of his nightmares, Jesse meets Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) who wants Jesse to kill for him. Krueger takes possession of Jesse's body and goes on to do what he does best. Fans of the Wes Craven original seem to hate this one but, for some reason, it's my favorite. The acting is poor and the plot inconsistent but I believe this to be the most terrifying part of the entire series. A number of scenes are unintentionally hilarious but the movie is plain evil overall. Whether it was initially intended or not, the homoerotic subtext is obvious and for most part hilarious. Some of the ideas here were original and atypical for the series. I thought the scene in which Freddy emerges from the body of Jesse was pretty cool and original compared to the rest of the series. In the end, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge is just another slasher without a deep sense or background. There may be some hidden messages but all things considered, this movie is supposed to be entertaining, not more and not less. |

The Ninth Gate
Dean Corso (Johnny Depp) specializes in tracking down rare and exotic volumes for collectors. Boris Balkan (Frank Langella) has recently acquired a seventeenth-century satanic text called The Nine Gates- a legendary book written by Satan himself. With The Nine Gates in his possession, Corso soon finds himself at the center of strange and violent goings-on. Not only is his apartment ransacked, it appears that he is being shadowed ferociously by others determined to regain the book.
