Well, they are a cash host, that's the reason why they are banned. The only scenario I can see this changing is if the financed-by-ads funding model of traditional image hosts comes a cropper, and they fall by the wayside. Either by dieing, or by becoming too unreliable.

The IV incident is obviously hacker-induced, but the sluggish and incomplete recovery from back-up servers is another matter - something that is not entirely independent of the way they are funded, and therefore the way they treat user data.

True, I noticed this is particular with my Playmen index thread. Yesterday evening the post with the cover gallery for 1968 had only one cover in it left, as I'm writing this now it's up to 5. 1973 was completely empty, and now 4 are back.

Confirm, too

At test thread yesterday (24 h ago) still 29 images missed, today left 12 dead URL's replaced (no patience to wait).

All the tabs I had pointing at imgvenue images are still dead. Unless the images are now at new URLs, this doesn't look good.

That new notice up above, may reflect what Imagevenue is telling
every one, but it's not accurate by a long stretch. Was that statement
from Imagevenue given in a reply to a mod here at VEF, or was it an
announcement made by them on their website? If so, I think further
questioning of them is in order to account for images that are missing
that go much further back than the date that's been given. If not, can
someone please tell me how to contact them to ask them myself, because
I'm having a hard time trying to tell exactly how to do that from their
home page.

You could try Emailing them
imagevenue@gmail.com

But it's a free service, and I'm sure they're doing the best they can, so try and be polite if possible.

I'm plenty patient. But the date given is incorrect, whether it was a response
from them or a date pulled out of thin air. What I don't have patience with,
is being lied to by them.

Would make far more sense for them to say IS being restored and not HAS

I have a post which had no images 2 days ago and today thumbnails that are dead at the server level so something is ongoing very slowly.

Top 3 and last one at the bottom just appeared today
- rest are imagebam added today

Yeah, that bothers me a lot: It look thumbnail, and one is believed that is the image.

If the thumbnail is gone, then you already know that waiting or replaced.

If the thumbnail exists and the image is gone, that's really misleading.
Because we have to check (EACH and EVERY ONE of) the images.

Very disappointing !
