The Police blotter should be getting interesting. Professional sports team headquartered in the sports gambling mecca. What could go wrong

BTW, the Raiders #1 draft choice remains unsigned pending the resolution of a rape allegation. In fairness, there is considerable doubt surrounding the accuser's allegations. The case was expected to have either resulted in charges or dropped a couple of weeks ago.

Does it seem as if the Raiders are trying to return to their glory years when they were the baddest team in the NFL?? Back in the 70's they played dirty, cheated whenever possible, and would give players a shot if they thought he could help the team.
Raider fans don't go postal on this I am only asking.

Well, as a rejected Raider fan, I don't know what this current bunch is up to. Back in the day, Oaklanders were quite proud of having "the dirtiest team in pro football," notorious for holding on every play. Unfortunately, the Pittsburgh squad would wrest that title away in the 70s and Al Davis would make his abortive L.A. move. When the Raiders returned they had become "the stupidest team in pro football."

That article you quoted skips right over some of the outrageous conditions that the Raiders are trying to impose on UNLV. The Raiders want exclusive control of all of the suites for all events, including UNLV games. They would take all of the revenue, pay UNLV an amount equal to the average general admission price that UNLV charges for each ticket, and keep all of the rest.

What that means is this: say the Raiders lease a suite for the 10 Raider home games and six UNLV home games for $160,000 (I'm just making up round numbers, your mileage may vary). That means they are getting $10,000 from that suite per game. If the average UNLV ticket for their entire game is $25, and the suite holds 20 people, then the Raiders would pay UNLV $500 for that suite for the game. Meaning the Raiders would make $9,500 from the UNLV game, just for that suite.

Something tells me that UNLV is having discussions with the governor and local legislators over this.
