I have several collections of things acquired over the years.

I collect toy robots. I have about 70 of them and have sold 3 or 4 in the last few years. Many of them are based on Robby the Robot. The oldest is from the 50s; newest is from a couple of years ago. Made of tin and plastic. Many I recall from my childhood but that I never had as a child.

Monster magazines dating back to the 50s. Famous Monsters of Filmland (issues 1-15 & Yearbooks, Fantastic Monsters of the Films, Mad Monsters, Horror Monsters, Castle of Frankenstein. I read these as a kid and wanted to renew my collection a couple of years ago. Those that were collected from childhood were sold to a Canadian years ago pre-internet.

Collected coffee cups from my recent cross country drives. Got about 20 of them from places like Yellowstone National Park, Mt. Rushmore, The Pawn Shop in Vegas, Carlsbad Cavern, OK Corral/Tombstone, etc. Terribly practical. I can use them everyday.

I remember years back when someone brought in a load of back issues of The Rifleman in to work.I used to flick through them,I did notice that in between stories about blowing away litterers,There were very many adverts for Mauser 98's.There were also adverts for Mannlicher Carcano's,The adverts always mentioned the JFK connection,Maybe they thought it a plus point for NRA members..

I have been reading The American Rifleman (one of the NRA's monthly magazines - the other is The American Hunter) since the early 80's and don't recall any stories about shooting litterers so I guess that comment wasn't meant to be accurate.

Mauser 98 actions are the basis for many hunting rifles and many K98K (WWII German bolt action rifles) were converted (bubba'd) into such configurations (I.E. 8mm to 30-06 or 8mm-06). Hunting rules often require 5 round ammunition limits and that is the standard capacity of Mausers. Thus there was and still is a demand for such weapons over and above collector interest. Carcanos, on the other hand, have limited demand due to a number of reasons - Italian military prestige is limited, the six round clip capacity has to be altered, 6.5 and 7.35mm ammunition has limited availability and thus is harder to handload, the Mannlicher action of the weapon is not considered as "smooth" or as easily convertible as a Mauser, etc. Note - the German late war conversion of Carcanos to 8mm is unsafe to shoot.

Other than cheapness, the JFK connection is one of the few selling points for a Carcano.

Regarding other Italian WWII weapons, I collect Beretta 1934 pistols too, mainly because Stanford Tuck - as stated in Fly For Your Life - seemed to like the example that he took off a dead Italian aircrew of a BR20. The pistol has a magazine removal system that is not very smooth at all and I doubt it would be the first choice of a person who had to rely on a handgun.

As I recall, the English long range desert raiders liked to use a certain Italian machine gun when they had ammunition for it, but otherwise Italian WWII weapons did not have a high reputation.

Pan Am airlines memorabilia - Everything from aircraft flight manuals to advertising. My prize item is a 1/32 Boeing 727 mahogany model that came from travel agent's office that my mother was friends with.

Within the past 2 years I've gotten back into collecting comic books, something I haven't done since the 1990's. I pick up some new stuff here and there, but I've mostly been picking up back issues of stuff I missed decades ago. There's a nice comic store just a few blocks from my house, so that's a plus. Any 80's Batman or Punisher stuff is always on my radar. Been picking up the first Suicide Squad series from 1987 to 1992, I'm about halfway there on a full issue set. Whatever older Justice League, X-Men, or New Gods stuff I can find is always good. John Byrne's run on Namor from the early 90's is another one I look for.

I collect UK ' 2000ad ' subject trade paperbacks - and
Black Flame and Abaddon Press
( although only 2000ad character subjects )
I also have a huge collection of Military Books and old / new Paperbacks
on the same subject - and also Military / Naval / WW2 Aviation Magazines

My other collections are WW2 Royal Navy Warship Postcards and
German Navy WW2 Warship Postcards - in two Binders

I also have some Victorian Campaign Medals , and a decent display of WW2 1/48 scale Fighter Aircraft , 1/35 King Tiger ( Tamiya ) and 1/350 Scale Yukikaze , HMS Cossack , HMS Walker and HMS Prince of Wales and Repulse - with a few other things that I can't remember , I will have to take a few photos to show what I mean

( I also have a large collection of 1970's and 1980's Adult Magazines
that feature Rachel Broome and Eva von Bork )

This is is a sample of what I have - a lot of books ( all treasured - and most are actually read ) and some great artwork bought from 2000ad -
the Simon Coleby original artwork ( autographed - and named to me )
from Jaegir by Gordon Rennie
also the Carlos Ezquerra framed art print bought back in May 2016 in Manchester Comic-Con ( one of the few nice things of that entire month ) ,
with the rest of the photos -
note - the 1st photo has in a Silver Frame - the treasured personalised and totally genuine original autograph of Otto Carius ( WW2 German Tiger Tank Ace )
- which I got a year before he died
to be enjoyed by the Forum

Tomica die-cast cars and trucks. These are the Japanese equivalent of Matchbox and just like those are of variable scale to fit a standard-ish box size. The most out-of scale up in size is a Honda Cub motorbike. The most down in size is a fire escape.

I’ve got a fairly large book collection too. Many are about aviation, secret and unbuilt project stuff. I did have a first edition of Don Browns book on Miles Aircraft, published by Putnam but I was was made an offer I could not refuse.

Here is part of my pistol collection. I was collecting Browning HiPowers until the 10+ round magazine ban. I had to box my 13+ round magazines and have them ready to ship out of state if the latest law is not changed. (no grandfathering in for legally owned prior to the new law or exception for 70+ year old Curio and Relic magazines) So I started to collect Polish Radom pistols. Both I think are superior designs to the Colt 1911 as they are much easier to field strip and won't have parts go flying off if you don't keep pressure on them correctly.
