As mentioned, it seems to be taboo in the U.S. In fact, people right now are upset at comedian Bill Maher for using "the C word and the T word" to describe Sarah Palin. Up to this point I had never heard of considering the latter to be a "swear word" or a term in need of a politically correct euphamism. Of course, the Hallmark Channel even censors the word "butt" while airing Cheers reruns. It seems like it's ever easier to offend someone these days.

Anyhow, I don't use the word myself --at least not since my teenage years. I did use the term then to refer to a girl I thought was being a bit of a tease at the time, but in retrospect, I was just a dumb kid with overactive hormones. I don't think she ever actually heard me say it about her, but I do feel guilty about it once in a while since it does carry such weight here. Bah, I'm probably just being a silly "T word."

I am now 41 years of age. I live in the U.S. When, I was 17 years old. I was working in a "family steak house", as a host. To this day. I loathe the word "pussy" when referred to the female sexual organ. It is pish-poshy. It is "Uncivilized", per se. It does not have any form of sexual tone, nor is it sensual. It reminds me more of a cat (feline...that is). Or a slang for a wimpy, frightened man.
Here in the U.S. it is quite taboo. Exceedingly, taboo. I grew up watching a lot of BBC, and other British/U.K. programming. I loved the fun way, they would use language here, like the word cunt. I have got to know some great "blokes" over the years, of dealing with them. Fun loving guys. Calling each other cunts was norm. And, in some cases, in a complimentary term. That is the Brits for ya. Good folk.
Back here, in the U.S. Some Douche-Bags have ruined the word, for us who love the word. Especially, in the sexual term. Because, they want to insult a woman, they use it. To me, calling a woman a cunt, is flat out wrong, and it basically, is calling them a pussy/vagina. So, really makes absolutely no sense to me, to call them that.
Too many want to say that damn P word. Pussy, kind of like Puss-ee-ish. Like snot. It is not a sexually arousing word. Then, you got the childish names, that some like to call it...like "Kitty"....cute...not bad. "Flower", to me, knowing where (and whom) some of the gals, have been....flower, would be the last thing I would ever call it.
Then, you have the other slangs.....Twat...rarely ever used today. Almost as rare as cunt. Slit, slot, quim, trim, tha Y. Among, many others.
Today, if I come across, a hot gal, who likes to use the c-word. I look upon her, as if she was a angel of sex. It is a very exciting word. It is very powerful, and beautiful. Damn, shame it has been ruined for us who appreciate it for its' value, and true meaning.

I'm guessing it's "twat".

Assuming that's the case, surely it's sexual discrimination if it's okay to call someone a knob or dick in public, but not a twat or cunt!
