Not Receiving Emails
Off and on for some reason emails I used to receive will not be sent to me anymore. My email account is Hotmail and I am wondering if this is happening to anyone else with a similar or different email account. I don't see why emails would not be flat out delivered to me.

Are you referring to;
(i) your "normal" e-mail service provided by hotmail for all correspondence, or (ii) e-mail you are used to receiving from VEF at your hotmail address? Is there anything in your hotmail "junk-mail" folder? |

Normal email service. Junk mail folder is empty as far as I know unless they somehow hide mail sent to the junk mail folder.

All webmail services like Hotmail (Outlook), Gmail, Yahoo and all the others have got automatic filters, which are supposed to be set up to filter out spam.
One thing I've seen throughout the years of working over the internet is that Hotmail has gotten worse on that - so many times emails from friends that were sent to me never arrived. It is easily understandable that automatic emails from newsletter services can be filtered out as spam and get stopped so they don't arrive to your Inbox and you don't even know; but these automatic filters sometimes even filter out perfectly safe email messages. And there's nothing we can do about that as this is not set up on your account / my account / anyone else's account, it's set up on the server that receives the emails, completely out of our hands. Why does this happen? Because these server-level filters handle millions of emails every day and are the ones that make sure any of us do not get like 1453 spam emails every single day. It's not just Hotmail's fault; Gmail and Yahoo, for example, have got a beef with each other to the point that sometimes they just plain reject emails from each other. Bottom line: there's nothing we can do about this; as I said, this is set up way above our levels as users. From what I know, Gmail is the one that works better than the others on this subject.

I've also noticed how emails from Microsoft and it's related services will end up in the junk mail folder.

Disabling auto-forwarding email settings is also a big help to assure that you will get messages straight to your Outlook.com email account
You just need to sign in your Outlook.com, click the gear icon, select Options, select Forwarding under Accounts list, check if there is an email that is set to forwarding. Kindly remove the address found if any. This fixed the issue for this end user who was using outlook - mind you their account was hacked Not Receiving Emails in hotmail (378 users had same issue) https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...3-5d8bcddb6467 mail does not arrive in hotmail - 2013 In 2nd last message - reasons for not emails not arriving - 3 is technical mumbo jumbo 1. In plain English it means that Hotmail has blocked certain email servers from sending their users any emails.
There are a wide variety of reasons why certain email providers will do this.
