Default Great Musicians who disappeared suddenly...

I would like to start a new musical thread, specifically about bands you thought were great, but who suddenly disappeared due to changing musical styles and/or inability to get a major record deal or hit single. Two examples of these bands from the early nineties (when I first started listening to heavier music) were Baton Rouge and Avarice.

Baton Rouge had one hit AOR album in the eighties, Shake Your Soul, but their subsequent 1991 release Lights Out On The Playground had only one MTV video and did not result in commercial success for the album. Kelly Keeling switched to gospel music and Baton Rouge was disbanded.

Avarice had a great single with "Divide And Conquer"; it was technically fast and precise thrash or speed metal that I saw once at my local Camelot Music, but somehow did not take the chance on buying their album for a mere $10. However, I don't think heavy metal was getting much respect at the time, and I never heard the band again on rock/metal stations after 1992.

Do any of you have any of your favorite one-hit wonders or underrated/unknown bands who you wish could have continued to produce tunes? This could become a longer thread, if many of us share...

One in particular .... I love it when female performers, younger ones, shy away from disco dance bullshit and actually play an instrument and sing well

Bring me to one my GF, now Missus, played a lot when it was a hit and I quite liked ... she only ever had the one hit here in Australia .... Vanessa Carlton

No idea what happened to her

@sledge: Thank you for the DIN[A]TOD songs. I thought they were good...

BTW, DIN[A]TOD does a song called "Flames On Calvary". This phrase suggests cross-burning, and if DIN[A]TOD are Germans, they had better not make any more reference to Ku Klux Klan or neo-Nazi ideas, which are still illegal in Germany. )

And FYI, I am not a Klan sympathizer just because I noticed this; you might want to consult my VEF thread about "Charlottesville, Virginia [Ban The Klan?]" to learn more.
