Having worked for Playboy in the late 1970's I was a little surprised to see the comment that they were all hookers and escorts. That is simply not true and in fact not even close to true. The playmates certainly were not likely to be virgins but they were hardly hookers and porn stars.

The one thing that was pretty much a given is that all of the girls were portrayed as single and never married until, I believe, Kathy Shower, in spite of the fact that a few were married and had kids. But the notion that they were sex workers is just someone's foolish fantasy. For a period of time, a a fair number of the girls came form the clubs, and the Bunnies were almost all local girls from the area around the clubs. They really pretty much were the girl next door. They just had very remunerative waitressing jobs.

There were a relative handful who wound up involved with Hefner and The Mansion; there were far more who were hired for photo shoots at the Mansion for features in the magazine.

Obviously many of the girls were models in the early days and later many were aspiring actresses looking for a career boost. And, as we all know, one of the girls -Sue Kiger- had actually done a small part in a porn film before she was selected as a Playmate. And the fact is that no one at the magazine knew that at the time nor would she have been a Playmate if it had been known. The magazine was extremely image conscious under Hef's reign.

I'm not going to posit that all playmates were escorts, however, to say that none were escorts is simply naive. I know for a fact that many from the '90s and '00s were escorts. They did so under the radar and some even used different monikers while they were courtesans. There were also playmates who were sugar babies but that is a distinction without a difference.

Perhaps the playmates back in the '70s didn't moonlight as courtesans, but if they did, it would have been much easier for them to do so under the radar and employees of Playboy were less likely to catch wind of such things.

I don't doubt that some PM's and other models that appeared in PB were not pure and chaste as the driven snow.
However it is easy enough to post such as yours above GF49 and Dooku with out any proof. IMO if some one makes such accusations they also need to have some proof other wise I believe it is just as bad as gossip.

I'm not sure how you "know for a fact", but I do know that based on my personal experience with the company that would be unlikely. One or two might have found their way in, but that would be a long odds bet. People have had fevered fantasies about models forever. Playmates were no different, but generally speaking they were as likely to be hookers as the models in the Victoria Secret or Sear or JC Penney catalogues, since that's largely who they were. The selection process was always focused on the appearance of youth and innocence, and the simple fact is that hookers -even expensive ones- typically have hard lives and look like they do.

I agree that this is far more likely. I read an unauthorized (and fairly critical) bio of Hefner. In the early days, Playboy was constantly under attack as being fronts for prostitution, and as a result the company and especially the clubs were closely scrutinized by local law enforcement. This lead to the rule that a bunny could not date a key holder.

What is striking me is the "tastefully done" thing they are promoting, usually Brazzers newcomers are handled by Keiran Lee and, if you watch his scenes, there is nothing tasteful about what he does, he will make them suffer, like choking them with his penis, but given how they look right now, Scoreland would have been better.

Yeah, she had a rough patch in life, went through a lot and now porn.
A while ago, an aspiring model told me that she was considering PB because it opened doors to others, I warned her that PB plus is not Playboy and that going there is the fastest way to porn.

On a similar note, Iryna Ivanova is considering doing porn in case given the right amount.
