As I said in a previous post about a similar issue. Anyone who transitions after puberty from male to female should not be allowed to play women's sports. This is not transphobic or whatever buzz word they feel like using this week. Its simple genetics, fairness and in some cases plain safety. If someone transitions after puberty from male to female they have all the benefits of being born male. Stronger bones, muscle mass and in most cases they are larger in body size. This gives them a huge unfair advantage, as seen in the UFC fighter who transitioned.

If they transition early then the differences are there but they may not be as noticeable and its arguable that it is a more level playing field. However at the same time some would argue simply being born a man gives a male to female transsexual an advantage. Pre-puberty transitions I think could be judged on a case by case basis. However post puberty transitions playing sports should not be allowed.

On the subject of self-driving vehicles, there are these capsules or pods that speed people to and from the airport(I think Heathrow or Gatwick) and we've had self-driving trains like the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) system for a number of years, but actual cars worry me and you have seen above it can go wrong. I think it will be a long time before the average driver has a self-driving car and for the time being it more likely to be in science fiction films than real life. I also wonder whether someone will build a supercar that is electric rather than gas-guzzling as we have at the moment. I find it mad that a new Bugatti has been built, the Chiron, which replaces the car that changed the way cars were made, the Veyron and goes faster than the Veyron and cost £1m more than the Veyron at £2m. What is the point? Surely we should be finding better ways to develop systems that can be put into cars that don't do the environment any harm AND affordable not pie-in-the-sky, only a billionaire can afford lunacy like that and others on the market and out of reach of the average driver.

The new ONE POUND coin is being released tomorrow and I wonder if people will like it. I didn't like the original pound to begin with(the note was easier to carry and lighter) and ended up buying one of those holders that took 6 of them but it weighed my pocket down. This new one is claimed to be unforgeable, lighter and better looking...I reserve my judgement until I get one-and I want one

As a matter of fact no I didn't thanks for that info. I have an old Scottish £5 note and a crisp old English £1 note in a box I've had for years as well as some pristine 50ps etc. I like the idea of a less weighty pound as it tends to wear holes in my pockets over time especially when sitting down and they are in your back pocket.

What was burning issue of the day in the paper(Daily Mail) whose legs were better Wee Jimmy Sturgeon or Theresa(not the model one) May's and some got on their high social horse and complained it was sexist. Well having looked at the picture on the cover and inside said paper I would have to say the better legs are on the Sturgeon! I know, I need a lie down It also coincided with them meeting about a referendum in Scotland, however it was more like Theresa May but Nicola Sturgeon may not Article 50 will be triggered tomorrow, a letter has been drafted and will be delivered to Donald Tusk and then the ructions will begin in earnest. I expect Juncker and the others to take a dim view(despite what they told the Mayor today) and we can expect this to run and run for another two-three years-sheesh! I should live that long!

Daily Mail is well behind the times - Ms Sturgeon has already been noticed in the VEF's Women you shouldn't really Fancy thread:

I noticed that a couple, who had a horse and trap, (a little two-wheeled open carriage), had gone along a path that went to a locked gate that had one of those 'two horizontal things across the ground' things. When I saw them they had taken the horse out of the trap and the man managed to get the trap over the 2 horizontal things and then struggled to get the horse over it as the horse was confused and scared of the horizontal things. After a few seconds the man managed to get the horse over it, but it had to jump over them with it's back legs as it couldn't see them to walk over them. Of course, this jumping made the horse go a bit far forward and finally the man got the horse to back up.

But after the horse was stood still where the man wanted it, he slapped it quite hard across the front of the face near the jaw.

He then led the horse to the left of my view but that took the front of it behind a wall, whic meant I couldn't see that end, and he shouted "you f*cking will, and that's the end of it". I don't know if he hit it again.

Oh yes I think so, it is or was legal tender down here but many shopkeepers were reluctant to accept them.

So that's it, the proverbial genie is out of the bottle - we've delivered the letter and triggered this mythical Article 50(which was never meant to be triggered anyway) upset Donald Tusk("we already miss you") and now we have nearly 2 years to sort this mess out. Something tells me this is not going to be easy and Brexit (not Bregsit as some idiots say) will show whether the British people were right or spectacularly wrong and lied to every step of the way in the campaign. I don't think we will get a decent deal and May will have to do some real crawling to the people to show us she was right to do it. One thing is certain we are going to be hearing a lot more from this for a long time to come. A question I've heard from some is should WE, the British people be the ones to vote on the deal we get? Can it be reversed? or should we just let the MP's decide it...surely, as an example of real democracy it is the people not the MP's who should vote on the deal offered? Only time will tell.

What an odd day! Yesterday it was bright, breezy and cool and today it was more like Autumn with a gusty wind, cloud and drizzly rain, yet tomorrow it is set to be the warmest day of the year-we are told-mad weather but sooner that than the tale end of a cyclone or hurricane. I hope people in Australia are riding out the Cyclone Debbie and keeping safe.

It's legal tender - back in the 70's I nearly had to batter some stupid f*cker in a shop in London when he started looking askance at a Scottish £20 note.
