I can confirm that Susan was topless in the film "Paris in the Month of August" with, of all people, Charles Aznavour"
www.imdb.com/title/tt0059564/ Stills from the film - clearly showing her face are in a copy of (I am pretty sure) Parade Magazine that I buried under the neighbour's shed in about 1969!!!! Her face was very clearly visible standing bare breasted in a shower - and I still remember it now Last edited by ribwelt; January 17th, 2010 at 01:43 PM.. Reason: link error |

Paris au mois d'août (Paris in the month of August) was a French language film released in 1966 (IMDB). Its director was Pierre Granier-Deferre who was married to Susan between 1967 and 1974 and with whom she had two children.
The film had a brief release in London in December 1967 at the long vanished Classic Victoria cinema, where I saw it. I remember it as being reasonably erotic by the standards of the time, though I was a bit disappointed not to get a view of Susan’s bare breasts. Still, it was reward enough to see her in a few decorous love scenes with Charles Aznavour, since to my teenage eyes she was the most beautiful and desirable woman in the world. (IMHO, she has not been surpassed in the intervening 44 years.) In 1970 or 1971, there was an article about Susan in the French magazine Paris Match. I remember that this explained that Granier-Deferre, her husband, had deliberately cut some of more revealing footage from the film, since he did not want his wife’s charms so fully displayed to the world. A pity. It may be that the stills seen by ribwelt had been retrieved from the cutting room floor. |
